Fitness YouTuber Jeff Nippard has made serious allegations against fellow fitness influencer Mike Van Wyck, claiming he was assaulted following a confrontation caught on video.
A brief segment of the incident surfaced on social media, which depicted Van Wyck seizing Nippard by the throat and forcefully pushing him, resulting in Nippard falling several feet away.
The footage concludes, but the accompanying posts imply that the altercation continued beyond what was shown.
This is not fake. Here’s the original video. Word has it that this was not the end of the encounter. #massiveiron pic.twitter.com/tki16f3RS9

On the afternoon of October 21, Nippard took to Instagram to share further details, claiming that there is CCTV footage from the gym verifying his account.
“Mike Van Wyck struck me in the throat twice inside the gym and then pushed my videographer,” Nippard explained. “Rumors are circulating that Mike asked me to stay away, and that I approached him first, but that’s completely false. @puremuscleandfitness has security footage that can confirm this. I urge them to make it public.
“While I was shooting a short for YouTube featuring bicep curls, Mike passed by and said ‘sup’. That was our initial interaction of the day, and I just chuckled. He then mumbled ‘oh, things are about to get real funny’ as he walked by.
“Curious, I asked him what he meant by that and made sure my videographer continued filming in case he turned aggressive. Shortly after, he came back, instructed me to ‘turn the camera off,’ then jabbed me in the throat, causing me to collapse to the ground.”
Following the incident, Nippard shared a hospital visit video showing he had undergone a CT scan.
According to Nippard, after he hit the floor, Van Wyck threatened him, saying he should “never talk about him ever again.”
“Then he jabbed me in the throat a second time. He also assaulted my videographer by pushing him against a cable machine before departing the scene,” Nippard recounted.
He insisted that the gym, Pure Muscle and Fitness, possesses video evidence that would uphold his narrative, suggesting they should disclose it.
Additionally, he mentioned that, as of now, the gym is still permitting Van Wyck to conduct training sessions with clients.
What Motivated Van Wyck’s Assault on Jeff Nippard?
Nippard suspects that Van Wyck’s aggression was triggered by dissatisfaction with a clip he previously released regarding “science-based training.”
“I believe his actions stemmed from the anger due to my recent video addressing his inquiry on science-based training,” he wrote on Instagram. “It’s quite shocking, to be honest.”
In that video, Nippard had responded to Van Wyck’s challenge about why proponents of science-based training “look so mediocre, if you know so much?” Nippard highlighted that his science-informed approach to bodybuilding has aided him greatly, giving him confidence in his methods.
Van Wyck Faces Backlash Following Nippard Incident
As another YouTube content creator with over 100,000 subscribers on his channel, Van Wyck has not yet publicly addressed the incident involving Nippard.
Nonetheless, comments on his Instagram are condemning his actions as “assault.”
One popular comment read, “Your assault on Nippard just proves he was right,” while another remark questioned: “Is this the guy who ‘roid raged’ and attacked Jeff Nippard?”
On X/Twitter, bodybuilder Swolecialist expressed his thoughts: “Mike Van Wyck is just another emotional and insecure individual.”
How could you hate Jeff Nippard, man? Dude’s one of the nicest guys in the online fitness community and probably the biggest creator with the least obnoxious ego. Mike Van Wyck is just another emotional and insecure bastard.

Nippard reported that he is “okay” following a CT scan.
YouTuber Antoine Vaillant shared an update from the gym, stating that the owner instructed Mike to wrap up his session and leave the premises around noon, and as of 1pm, he is banned from returning to @puremuscleandfitness.
