Jenna Ortega Pleads with Fans to Stop Abusing Viral Wednesday Addams Plush Dolls

Jenna Ortega has addressed concerns regarding fans mistreating the Wednesday Addams plush doll, a troubling trend that has emerged in department stores.

Following Netflix’s announcement on September 19 that Season 2 of Wednesday will premiere in 2025, the beloved plush doll resembling Wednesday Addams became a viral sensation.

As the Halloween season approaches, enthusiasts of the supernatural mystery series have become increasingly captivated by the miniature stuffed doll available in various department stores.

However, Jenna Ortega, the actress portraying Wednesday Addams, expressed her worries on TikTok after several videos showcasing the mistreatment of the doll went viral.

“Please don’t,” Ortega urged, reacting to videos where fans had flipped Wednesday’s signature pigtails, making it appear as if she were bald.

The situation has gotten so serious that store staff have had to intervene, instructing customers not to play with the Wednesday doll.

One sign displayed in a bin filled with the dolls read, “Do not flip Wednesday’s hair. You will be asked to leave.”

Many viewers reacted humorously to the viral moment, finding it amusing that the doll could be interpreted as bald. They praised the creativity behind noticing this detail.

“This joke just keeps going and I like it,” commented one TikTok user.

Another quipped, “That’s not Wednesday, that’s Thursday!”

A third user cheekily questioned, “If it’s not flippable, why make it flippable?” to which someone else replied, “I’m sure the designers are kicking themselves for not adding a couple of extra stitches.”

As for the upcoming Season 2 of Wednesday, Ortega shared insights with Laverne Cox at the 2023 Emmys, revealing that the new season will delve into even “more horror” compared to the first.

“I’ve received some scripts for the second season, and we’re definitely leaning into a little more horror,” Ortega remarked. “It’s really exciting because throughout the show [Wednesday] never really changes, and that’s what’s great about her.”

“There are some excellent one-liners, and I believe everything will be bigger. It’s much more action-packed. I think each episode will feel a bit more like a movie, which is nice,” she added.
