On September 9, Jennie of BLACKPINK announced a significant partnership with Columbia Records, a leading US label, for her upcoming solo single. This collaboration is set to heighten anticipation as Jennie prepares for her solo comeback in October this year.
Columbia Records, which is a subsidiary of Sony Music Entertainment, boasts a roster that includes global superstars like Beyoncé, Adele, and Harry Styles. This label is committed to providing comprehensive support for Jennie’s solo endeavors.
Notably, this will be Jennie’s first solo release in nearly a year, following her special single “You & Me” released last October. Recognized for her ability to traverse different music genres, her upcoming return has generated substantial excitement among fans.
Previously, Jennie collaborated with The Weeknd and actress Lily-Rose Depp on the track “One Of The Girls,” which gained over 1 billion streams on Spotify and remained on the Billboard Hot 100 for 20 consecutive weeks. This success made her the first Korean female solo artist to achieve a platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
Furthermore, her music video for the track “SOLO” achieved over 1 billion views in April, a remarkable feat that established her as the first K-pop female artist to reach this milestone.
