YV̈MIN Accuses BLACKPINK Jennie’s ‘Jentle Salon’ of Being Plagiarized — Here Are the ‘Proofs’

The large pink box contains a white unicorn doll and six luxury sunglasses, as well as various charm accessories for personalizing the sunglasses, all neatly organized in compartments.

Thanks to the brand’s collaboration with Jennie, the entire concept was able to come to fruition.

After finalizing her collection, the star first shared it with her close friends and influencers before making it available to the public. This move generated significant buzz for her remarkable design and concept. In addition, aespa Winter showed her support for the idol by posting pictures of herself wearing pieces from the “Jentle Salon”line.

When the celebrity began endorsing the brand, it received overwhelmingly positive feedback. However, the brand faced criticism when a jewelry company accused them of plagiarizing designs and concepts from their previous collection.

In 2013, YV̈MIN, a brand, released a collection featuring teddy bear miniatures, ribbons, and silver charms, which continued until 2023.

Both YV̈MIN and Jennie’s concepts share similarities, including the use of animal mounts while their models were in flight. YV̈MIN chose a white rabbit, while Jennie opted for a unicorn.

Clarification of Accusations against Jennie by Jensetters

Upon learning of this news, Jensetters (Jennie’s solo fandom) voiced their frustrations and publicly called out the brand.

Despite allegations of plagiarism in the comments, many fans vehemently defended Jennie and argued that she would not be capable of copying the brand as she likely has no knowledge of them.

During the discussion on X, it was clarified that YV̈MIN had previously released similar charm designs. However, this could not be considered as plagiarism as these designs are widely used by other brands as well. It should also be noted that the concept of these designs predates Jennie’s involvement and has been a part of the fashion industry for a long time.

Upon further inspection, it is evident that Jennie incorporated her favorite things, capybara and clouds, while YV̈MIN’s artwork features a teddy bear embracing a heart. Although both pieces convey different concepts, they are not identical.
