Jeon So Min Opens Up About Life After Running Man
On December 13, Jeon So Min made headlines when she appeared in a video alongside her Sorry Not Sorry co-star, Choi Daniel, on the Jiseokjin World YouTube channel. In this candid conversation, she provided fresh insights into her life following her departure from the popular variety show, Running Man.
Exchanging Compliments and Reflecting on Changes
In a light-hearted exchange, Ji Suk Jin reacted to Jeon So Min’s lighter appearance, exclaiming, “You’ve lost weight! Has something been bothering you?” Jeon laughed and clarified, “I have lost some weight, but it was intentional.” The two revealed that their last in-person meeting had occurred nearly a year prior, although they maintained contact through phone calls.
Ji Suk Jin praised Jeon So Min’s beauty, stating, “You’ve become prettier. Your skin is glowing.” Jeon humorously noted her regular visits to the dermatologist as a contributing factor.
Discussing Her Departure from Running Man
As the conversation shifted to her decision to leave Running Man, Ji Suk Jin stated, “After So Min left Running Man…” to which Jeon interjected, “How about saying I graduated instead?” However, Ji disagreed, insisting, “No way. You left. While we supported your decision, we tried to persuade you to stay.”
Reflecting on the dynamics of the show, Jeon So Min mentioned, “The atmosphere on Running Man has improved, and the average age of the cast has gone down.” Ji Suk Jin jokingly asked if she regretted her decision, prompting Jeon to respond with a laugh, “It is a bit tough out there.”
A Shift in Humor Standards
When Ji inquired about her feelings since leaving the show, Jeon So Min revealed, “My humor standards have become too high. I find myself questioning, ‘Why is this funny?’ I rarely laugh as intensely as I used to.”
She elaborated on her adjustments after leaving Running Man, stating, “I began filming sooner than expected; within three to four months, I had completed a movie, filmed two single-episode dramas, and started Sorry Not Sorry. Initially, I was quite anxious, unsure of my future and juggling financial hardships after relocating. At one point, I even took a part-time job at a café.”
Shocked, Ji Suk Jin exclaimed, “I couldn’t believe it when I heard you were working at a café in Sangam-dong!”
Jeon So Min recounted her time there, noting, “Some customers assumed I was part of a reality show and asked where the cameras were. I didn’t cover my face at all; I was encouraged to forgo hats or masks to help with sales. While my hourly wage was standard, the café owner treated me to meals. It brought back memories of when I was 29 and had dreams of my future. Ultimately, it revitalized my energy and turned out to be a wonderful experience.”
After six memorable years on Running Man, Jeon So Min transitioned away from the show. Her latest project, Sorry Not Sorry, marks a significant return to acting, reaffirming her resilience and versatility in the industry.
