Jeon So-min Discusses Unique Relationship with Father: “We’re Not Close, Our Connection is Different”

Jeon So-min Discusses Family Dynamics on M:USB

On December 27th, the popular YouTube channel “M:USB” released a captivating new video featuring Choi Daniel and actress Jeon So-min. The episode offered insights into Jeon So-min’s personal life and her relationship with her father.

A Unique Father-Daughter Bond

During the conversation, Jeon So-min revealed, “My dad’s friends told him, ‘Your daughter is just like you were when you were young.’ Dad and I share similar personalities.” In a moment of reflection, Choi Daniel probed further, asking, “Did you like your dad?” Jeon So-min candidly admitted, “I’m not particularly close to him. I love him deeply and I know he loves me, but our relationship isn’t like that of other daughters. I’ve never articulated my feelings to him verbally, nor have I physically expressed them through hugs or linking arms.”

Reflecting on Upbringing

She elaborated on their connection, noting, “Perhaps it’s because my dad raised me in a way that was more akin to raising a son, or maybe it was like we were friends.” Choi Daniel encouraged her to express her love for her father directly on camera. After a brief hesitation, Jeon So-min waved at the camera before finally declaring, “I love you” to her father.

Choi Daniel’s Personal Story

Choi Daniel also shared his own experiences, revealing, “My mother passed away when I was four years old. At that time, my brother, who is six years older, was in elementary school. My dad had the responsibility of raising both of us alone, which kept him extremely busy.” He reflected on his life choices, stating, “I began living independently at 20 and started working early, leading to a missed opportunity to express my feelings. However, I’m making an effort to change that now.”

Upcoming Projects

Both Jeon So-min and Choi Daniel are currently appearing together in the KBS Joy drama “Sorry Not Sorry,” adding professional synergy to their personal revelations.
