Jessi Faces Renewed Past Assault Allegations Amid Ongoing Case Developments

On October 17, JTBC’s program “Crime Chief” featured an interview with an individual, referred to as Informant A, who claimed they were assaulted by Jessi and her associates in 2013 at an Itaewon nightclub.

Informant A recounted, “I was attacked by Jessi and her entourage at a club. At that time, Jessi alleged that the attacker had fled overseas, which echoes the present situation. In the club’s restroom, I made room for them, yet they started an unprovoked fight and assaulted me. Jessi and her crew struck me and attempted to force my face into a toilet. They took my bag and said they would give it back only if I knelt and apologized.”

Jessi defended herself by stating that she merely intervened in the altercation and did not hit anyone. The case was eventually closed after the informant chose to retract their complaint.

The informant expressed their disappointment regarding the retraction, saying, “Jessi never acknowledged hitting me. She definitely did. I only withdrew the complaint because I was preparing to relocate to the U.S. for work, and I felt I had no other option.”

With visible emotion, A remarked, “Recently, a high school student asked Jessi for a picture, and her friends assaulted him. Why does this keep happening? It mirrors my own experience, and I still can’t comprehend it. Is her friend Chinese? That’s absurd.” Informant A also conveyed a message of encouragement to the victim and their family, stating, “I empathize with what you’re enduring. It saddens me deeply, and I wish for your swift recovery, both physically and mentally.”

Last month, a young fan in Seoul faced violence from a member of Jessi’s group after requesting a photo with the artist. Jessi was later seen at a nearby bar, but when questioned about the man’s actions, she and her group feigned ignorance.

In response, Jessi attempted to disassociate herself from the incident, making a vague remark about “moral responsibility.” Nevertheless, police have since called her in as a witness, and she informed reporters that she does not recognize the assailant.
