On October 23, Ten Asia revealed findings regarding the individual who attacked a fan of Jessi. Reports indicate that this person is allegedly an associate of rapper and producer Koala, who holds a close relationship with Jessi. Although it’s suggested that Jessi may not have been aware of the attacker’s identity or contact during the incident, sources assert that she was informed of these specifics as the situation intensified prior to any police inquiries.
An insider from the entertainment sector with ties to Jessi informed Ten Asia, stating, “Koala was aware of who the attacker was, including his contact information, and Jessi found out through Koala.” They further commented, “It might be accurate that she was unaware of the assailant during the gathering where she was invited by Koala, but she certainly was informed about the assailant once the victim reported the assault.”
This has sparked backlash against Jessi, with critics arguing that she should have taken more initiative, such as alerting the victim about the assailant’s identity and providing useful information to the police. Instead, they believe she opted to remain uninvolved.
Additionally, controversy arose as Jessi was seen enjoying drinks at a nearby venue shortly after leaving the location of the assault, raising concerns about her level of seriousness regarding the incident.
Jessi is currently under scrutiny for allegedly disregarding a fan’s assault. Police reports indicate that in the early morning hours of September 29, a young fan was assaulted by a male member of Jessi’s entourage while attempting to take a photo in Apgujeong-dong, within the Gangnam district.
At that time, Jessi was present and reportedly attempted to intervene and cease the altercation before departing the scene. When law enforcement arrived after the victim’s report and questioned Jessi and her associates about the assailant’s whereabouts, they allegedly claimed to have no knowledge.
In relation to this event, Jessi’s representatives clarified that the assailant was “Chinese” and stated he had “no connection” to her—emphasizing that he was instead a friend of a close producer. During the police inquiry, she expressed hope that the individual responsible for the attack on the fan would be swiftly located and held accountable. However, when journalists inquired whether she had met the assailant prior to that day, she confirmed, “Yes, I met him for the first time.”
