The SBS building in Mok-dong, Yangcheon-gu, Seoul was the venue for the press conference of SBS’s new Friday-Saturday drama “Connection”on May 24th. Director Kim Mun-kyo and actors Ji Sung, Jeon Mi-do, Kwon Yul, Kim Kyung-nam, Jeong Soon-won, Jung Yoo-min, Cha Yup and Lee Gang-wook attended the event and shared various stories about the drama.
The concept of “Connection”revolves around an exceptional detective from the narcotics unit who, after being coerced into drug addiction, finds a lead in the death of his comrade to unravel the mysteries of their 20-year-long friendship and the bond that tied them together.
Ji Sung portrays Jang Jae-kyung in the drama “Connection”, a detective at Anhyeon Police Station’s Narcotics Team. He is highly regarded by his subordinates and held in high esteem by his superiors in the police department.
At the event, Ji Sung was questioned about his decision to join “Connection” . He explained, “I was intrigued by the writer’s exceptional planning and writing abilities. I pondered what could make this project stand out from my past works, but it was not until filming began that I could anticipate the direction it would take.”
“While working on this drama, I experienced a sense of growth and a shift in my energy. The idea of a narcotics detective struggling with drug addiction was a fresh concept for me. I was intrigued by the challenge of portraying it. The script was superb and the characters were well-developed. Additionally, the diverse cast of actors caught my attention.”
The initial airing of “Connection”on May 24th garnered a 5.7% viewership rating, as reported by Nielsen Korea.
