Despite facing some of the most notorious criminals in the One Piece world while traversing the depths of Impel Down, Jinbe has consistently noticed the unsettling aura surrounding the Gorosei. This implies that he has sensed something deeply unsettling about these leaders, possibly perceiving their inner turmoil and wrongdoings.

Jinbe, who has had encounters with both Emperors and Admirals, frequently stresses the remarkable aura of the Gorosei. Haki, which not only gauges power but also the energy emitted by a person, could possibly elucidate why Jinbe is especially attuned to the presence of the Gorosei. It is plausible that Jinbe is perceiving the anguish of the souls devoured by the Gorosei, as their aura appears to be a fusion of various other souls.

Before the extent of Saturn’s abilities were known, he was often spotted standing among the other Gorosei. Sabo had once commented that the highest level of authority in the world felt like a living hell, possibly hinting at the Oni-like Devil Fruits possessed by the Gorosei. The fact that Saturn appeared at Egghead through a summoning circle, similar to how demons are summoned, adds weight to this theory. His physical appearance bears a striking resemblance to that of an Ushi Oni, further supporting the idea that his Devil Fruit is a Mythical Zoan modeled after this powerful demon.

This evidence further supports the notion that the entire Gorosei are Oni. In the concluding events of chapter 1109, Saturn seemingly utilizes the same magical circles to summon the remaining members of the Gorosei, implying a telepathic connection between them.

According to Saturn’s powers, it is implied that the Gorosei possess the ability to manipulate souls, similar to the mythological creature Ushi Oni, known for its ability to devour souls. This power is likely the source of their regenerative abilities, as they are able to heal themselves by consuming and incinerating souls.

Saturn’s unchanging appearance after 40 years implies that he maintains his youthful appearance by consuming souls, similar to Sugar from the ‘Dressrosa arc.’ This suggests that acquiring his Devil Fruit has granted him potential immortality as long as he continues to feed on souls.

Similarly, the other members of the Gorosei have also retained their appearances since their encounter with Vegapunk over 33 years ago. This consistent physical appearance suggests that they possess the same ability to consume souls.

It is evident that the Devil Fruits possessed by the Gorosei share a similar group or series, which explains their yokai-like appearances and the recurring “devil theme”associated with them. This could also be the reason for their ability to communicate telepathically, eliminating the need for Den Den Mushi snails.

Final Thoughts

Despite its ominous nature, the presence has yet to be fully elucidated and could potentially serve as a device to showcase the immense power of the Gorosei. The true scope of their capabilities and the origin of their unsettling aura continue to be shrouded in mystery.
