Members of the online community came together in a forum to talk about JINNI’s latest Instagram post. The post prompted conversations and raised questions about JINNI’s potential and future as a solo artist.
On August 26, internet users created a digital discussion titled, “JINNI Turns Into an Influencer.”The online platform featured JINNI’s Instagram post in which she promotes a moisturizing product.
The caption of the idol read:
“Soothing and moisturizing at once with the MIXOON Centella Toner Pad! In this humid hot summer weather, the skin might be irritated. Just put it on! Generously pour out a bottle of toner, full of moisture! Split pads can be used in small areas!”
Fans voiced their opinions on JINNI’s recent updates and lamented the lack of exposure for the artist. They also speculated that the post was a calculated effort to increase visibility.
- “It’s because she’s not popular. It was a predictable outcome. Why was she so stubborn?”
- “Her solo flopped too.”
- “Idols need to stay in a group to gain recognition. It’s a shame for her.”
A netizen further explained:
“To succeed as a solo artist, you need to build both group and solo fandoms first. It’s either that or you have to stand out so much in the group that people can’t help but notice you.
Honestly, a lot of people first heard about JINNI because of her departure, and even after she left, most people probably don’t know who she is. Non-fans who aren’t into idols probably don’t even know about Sullyoon either.”
On a separate platform, global fans expressed their thoughts on the matter. Many were disappointed to see JINNI’s potential being “wasted.”Some also questioned JINNI’s choice to depart from NMIXX and JYP Entertainment.
- “Honestly, if I was her, I would have just stayed with the group and just bare with the group’s music direction, even though it’s not to her liking. Like it’s not a nugu company, it’s JYP, one of the Big 3 after all.”
- “The most puzzling withdrawal from a group in recent history.”
- “What a wasted star quality.”
- “Real. In K-pop, you can’t survive as a soloist unless you have the star power.”
- “It did seem like NMIXX started off with an ambiguous concept and like Jinni didn’t make a bad choice, but then JYPE sobered up and finally gave them promos that worked for the members.”
- “It’s just a shame because JINNI seems like she’d fit in with their hip concepts.”
- “It was obvious she wouldn’t make it as a solo. She will venture into acting or just be an influencer.”
- “She was a big stan attractor in NMIXX, but she doesn’t stand out solo at all. It’s a shame she left the group or got kicked out.”
