On May 13th, Xports News reported that the Korean remake of the Taiwanese film “You Are the Apple of My Eye”will feature TWICE’s Dahyun and B1A4 member-actor Jinyoung in the lead roles.
The Taiwanese film “You Are the Apple of My Eye”(directed by Giddens Ko) was released in Korea in 2012. It tells the story of a young romance between a rebellious student and the model student assigned to monitor him. The movie, which captures the purity of first love, was also well-received in Korea.
Dahyun from the group TWICE will portray Seon-a (character name in the original version), a model student who is adored by everyone, and Jinyoung will play Jin-woo, who eventually develops feelings for Seon-a.
Director Cho Young-myoung, known for directing short films, is set to make his feature film debut with the Korean adaptation of “You Are the Apple of My Eye” .
The Korean remake of the film, which was also remade in Japan in 2018, is anticipated to depict a new and captivating love story, similar to its original version.
At the same time, Dahyun’s presence in the upcoming independent feature film “Sprint”was confirmed, making her the first member of TWICE to make her acting debut. This announcement has sparked significant interest, and in the film, she will be joining Ha Seok-jin and Lee Shin-young as they portray track and field athletes in a sports-themed story.
Jinyoung, also known as the “original acting idol” of B1A4, made his debut as a singer in 2011 and later expanded his career to acting in 2012 with the MBC drama “The Thousandth Man” . Since then, he has been actively involved in various projects, including “Persevere, Goo Hae-ra” , “Love in the Moonlight” , “My First First Love” , “Police University” , “My Perfect Stranger” , and “Sweet Home Season 2” .
Jinyoung is once again in the spotlight for his comeback to the silver screen, marking a significant return after his previous roles in the films “Miss Granny”(2014) and “The Dude in Me”(2019).
