Jiyeon Provides Update Post-Divorce from Hwang Jae-gyun: “A Totally New Vibe”

It appears that following her divorce, Jiyeon has transitioned into a new living space, exhibiting a fresh ambiance that differs from her previous one.

Jiyeon made her divorce from Hwang Jae-gyun, a professional baseball player aged 37 and associated with KT Wiz, official on October 5th. According to her legal counsel from Taesung Law Firm, “The couple encountered insurmountable differences and, after some time apart, have decided to proceed with their divorce. The mediation process is presently in progress at the Seoul Family Court.”

Jiyeon expressed through her legal representative, “I regret having to share such unfortunate news. We have consented to advance with the divorce mediation process.” In a similar tone, Hwang Jae-gyun stated, “After careful consideration due to differing personalities, we have chosen to part ways and ultimately seek divorce. We have already filed for mediation at the Seoul Family Court and intend to resolve this matter amicably.”

The couple publicly declared their relationship in February 2022 after dating for six months and tied the knot in December of the same year. Recently, they have faced speculation regarding their separation and impending divorce. In June, whispers of their split surfaced during a baseball broadcast on KNN, which Jiyeon’s representatives promptly refuted at that time.
