Joe Rogan recently shared his thoughts on the high-profile boxing match between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson, revealing his initial concerns for the 58-year-old Tyson’s safety.
Following the postponement of their original fight date, Jake Paul and Mike Tyson finally faced off on November 15. With Tyson’s age and reported health issues, Paul entered the ring as the clear favorite. Ultimately, Jake secured a unanimous decision victory over the heavyweight icon, who struggled to connect with any significant punches throughout the bout.
Rogan expressed his apprehensions about Tyson’s pre-fight health, although he affirmed the boxer’s determination to return to the ring. In episode 2232 of the Joe Rogan Experience, featuring guest Josh Brolin, Rogan discussed the outcome of the fight in detail.
Rogan’s Insights on the Fight Outcome
During the episode, Brolin playfully asked Rogan about the fight’s excitement, prompting Rogan to comment on the financial aspect. “It’s amazing they got paid so much money for that. I think $20 million and $40 million, that’s what I heard,” he noted.
Rogan expressed relief that Tyson not only received a significant paycheck but also emerged from the match without injury. “I’m happy that Mike got the money and I’m happy that he didn’t get hurt. That was my fear that it was going to be a real fight and he was going to get hurt,” he stated.

Rogan’s concerns regarding the fight being a “real” contest stemmed from a fear of it becoming a brutal slugfest rather than a lackluster performance. Interestingly, Jake Paul echoed similar sentiments, mentioning his desire for a more competitive encounter to enable a comeback narrative against the boxing legend.
Both fighters have addressed rumors suggesting the match was “scripted.” Despite it being featured on Netflix, the bout was a legitimate, sanctioned event and will count towards Paul’s professional record.
As a result of their recent match, both Jake and Mike have been temporarily sidelined from boxing activities for a month, though this restriction is purely medical in nature.
