Joe Rogan Loses Top Spotify Podcast Spot to His Own Guest

The Joe Rogan Experience has once again lost its crown as the top podcast on Spotify, this time to one of his recent guests.

For several years, Joe Rogan’s podcast has consistently ranked among the most popular on Spotify, aided by a lucrative contract that made the show exclusive to the platform.

While Rogan’s podcast frequently occupies the top spot in Spotify’s podcast rankings, several other shows have managed to briefly take over the number-one position in the past.

On October 2, 2024, Rogan was surpassed on the US Spotify podcast chart by one of his latest guests.

The Shawn Ryan Show boasts millions of subscribers on YouTube.

Shawn Ryan, a former US Navy SEAL, shares the “untold stories of war, loss, and redemption” on his podcast, The Shawn Ryan Show, which has featured 135 guests to date.

Ryan’s podcast is the latest to unseat The Joe Rogan Experience, with his most recent episode on September 30 featuring a retired US Army Green Beret and author dedicated to assisting veterans post-service.

This notable change follows Shawn Ryan’s appearance on Joe Rogan’s podcast, where they discussed a variety of global issues, amassing over 2 million views on YouTube alone.

After Shawn Ryan and Joe Rogan, the next most popular Spotify podcasts include Candace, The Tucker Carlson Show, and Talk Tuah by Haliey Welch.

Haliey Welch’s podcast was developed with assistance from Jake Paul.

Since its launch on September 10, Haliey Welch’s Talk Tuah has rapidly gained popularity, reaching as high as the fourth position on the Spotify charts.

The podcast has also ignited a wave of memes on social media, with users on X humorously presenting the show’s content as more serious than it is.

One amusing meme stated: “Hawk Tuah recently went viral for her rant on the overuse of advanced machine learning models by junior quant researchers,” and featured an image of Welch alongside a scientific research graphic.
