Joey Swoll took a stand for a gym-goer named Cassidy Davis, who accused a fellow member of yelling at her during her workout, resulting in Crunch Fitness revoking his membership.
Cassidy, a TikTok user, gained significant attention after sharing her experience of being yelled at by another Crunch Fitness member. “All of a sudden I hear someone yelling, and I take out my headphone again. I realize this man is yelling at me,” she recounted, visibly shocked after her session.
She explained that while she was waiting to use a machine, the member aggressively yelled, “What the f is wrong with you, how dare you be texting while I’m waiting. This is ridiculous. All you hoes just be text, text, texting.”
Despite facing such hostility, Cassidy informed the man that she would finish her final set and then allow him to use the machine. However, his confrontational behavior persisted, with him stating, “I’m so done with you. Why don’t you just do yoga class if you need to relax and text?”

After Cassidy’s claims went viral on TikTok, fitness influencer Joey Swoll stepped in, asserting that the aggressive gym member should be removed from the facility immediately. He commented, “That’s NOT ok for him to treat you that way. You have every right to do what you want for the few minutes between sets. Management should IMMEDIATELY remove him. You handled it better than most would.”
Cassidy subsequently reported the incident to Crunch Fitness management, which led to the revocation of the man’s gym membership. The management responded, “The member you had an incident with is no longer a Crunch member. He will not be someone you will have to interact with again in our gym. As stated, this is not a behavior that is tolerated, and we continue to strive to create a safe and fun environment for our Crunch Fam.”

In the end, Cassidy expressed her gratitude towards Joey and everyone who supported her during the distressing incident.
While Joey’s intervention played a pivotal role in the decision made by Crunch Fitness to ban the aggressive member, this isn’t the first time he has defended gym-goers facing unpleasant experiences. He has gained recognition for addressing poor gym etiquette, including incidents where a gym-goer mocked a disabled athlete during their workout.
