John Fury Criticized by Former World Champion Over Altercation with Oleksandr Usyk Camp

Former world boxing champion Carl Froch has criticized John Fury, father of Tyson Fury, for his behavior leading up to his son’s highly anticipated undisputed world heavyweight title fight against Oleksandr Usyk, calling him a “clown”.

On Monday, Fury Sr created a stir for the wrong reasons when he headbutted a member of Usyk’s team while the two boxers were fulfilling their media obligations before Saturday’s match.

The altercation was caught on camera, capturing Fury’s father being restrained by security while blood flowed down his face from a cut on his forehead.

Despite being a three-time world super-middleweight champion, fellow Brit Froch was thoroughly unimpressed by the incident and went as far as to compare the perpetrator to YouTube star turned boxer Jake Paul, stating that they both exhibit a similar level of clownish behavior.

According to Froch, “John Fury has crossed the line! We are now criticizing him,”as reported by Online Slots.

“Earlier, he had confronted me and threatened to physically harm me, claiming he could easily defeat me in a fight. He even went as far as making a public offer over the phone to face me at Wembley stadium.”

“I gave him some lip service because I refuse to simply sit back and let someone speak negatively about me without a comeback.”

His statements can be quite cringeworthy. Many of them are quite provocative and may push the boundaries. They tend to be on the borderline of absurdity and crudeness. I often find myself thinking, “John, please consider your words before speaking them.”

It is not surprising that the fighting man who refuses to fight has caused trouble. He has been instructed to remain quiet and stay out of the way during the build up to this event.

“He has been instructed to quiet down, refrain from speaking, and avoid getting involved in the promotion. Boxing is a serious business and sometimes he acts like a clown. He is on the same level as Jake Paul in terms of clownish behavior.”
