In addition, Rush also implements a revolutionary offside rule that restricts offside calls to the final third. This allows players to execute bold runs and bypass the offside trap in ways that were previously impossible.

In this dynamic new mode, teamwork and tactics are crucial as there are no set positions to restrict you. Collaborate with your teammates to devise effective strategies and outplay your adversaries. For a closer look at the 5v5 Rush mode, check out the Official Deep Dive Video here:

In Rush mode of EA FC 25, each team comprises five players: four outfield players controlled by users and one goalkeeper controlled by AI. Although the goalkeeper is controlled by AI, the team captain can still give them directions to rush or move laterally. To maintain fairness in online play, goalkeepers on both teams have the same attributes and play styles.

Rush has abandoned the traditional kick-off method in favor of a more exciting start. Two ball launchers, positioned on the halfway line, launch the ball with different levels of force and elevation in a random manner, resulting in chaos and unpredictability. This innovative approach aligns perfectly with the fast-paced nature of the game mode.

One of the main highlights of Rush is its versatile gameplay. The days of rigid player roles and positions are over! Instead, players are able to adapt and change their roles as the game progresses. After a break in play, they are placed back on the field according to their previous location. This aspect encourages teamwork, coordination, and provides equal chances for all players to participate in different roles during the game.

EA FC 25’s Rush mode revolutionizes football by implementing numerous thrilling updates:

  • The Rush pitch, with a measurement of 63.7 x 46.6 meters, is approximately 40% smaller than a typical pitch. This size was intentionally chosen to promote horizontal passing and ensure that players utilize the entire width of the field.
  • New roles and tactics: Explore FC IQ, Smart Tactics, and shareable tactic codes to enhance your team’s performance. The roles are divided into three levels: Role, Role+, and Role++.
  • The duration of a Rush match is seven minutes, with no half-time break. In the event of a tie, there will be a Golden Goal Extra Time lasting 2 minutes and 20 seconds, followed by a 1-on-1 Penalty Shootout.
  • The offside rules have been adjusted so that they now only come into effect within the final attacking third. A dotted line has been introduced to clearly mark the offside zone. In this new rule, players who are behind defenders will be considered onside as long as they are outside the attacking zone.
  • Penalties: Red cards are not given; instead, players are shown a blue card and must sit out for one minute for committing serious fouls or denying goal-scoring opportunities. Goalkeepers are not affected by blue and yellow cards. If a player receives two yellow cards, they will be shown a blue card, but the count will reset after. If a team receives a third blue card while two players are already sidelined, they will forfeit the game.
  • Penalty kicks are given for offenses committed inside the penalty box, giving players the opportunity to face the goalkeeper in a one-on-one situation. During shootouts, players take turns taking 1-on-1 penalty kicks, with each player having a maximum of 10 seconds to take their shot.
