A few fortunate individuals have had the opportunity to watch Joker 2 prior to its global debut in September… and their feedback suggests that it has the potential to revolutionize the movie industry as we currently know it.
Despite having several months left and a plethora of exciting new movies to see in the meantime, there are already high expectations for the highly anticipated sequel to the Warner Bros. hit, Joker.
Despite not having been shown to any audience or critics yet, the head of the Venice Film Festival, Alberto Barbera, is among the fortunate few who have seen the film and he has made some bold statements after viewing it.
According to Deadline, Barbera stated that Joker 2 is a bold, courageous, and innovative film that stands out in recent American cinema. He further expressed his amazement and surprise at the end of the screening.
Barbera’s words have sparked excitement among fans ahead of its debut at the Italian film festival, but such a bold claim is not unexpected.
“I typically don’t find musicals to be exciting, but I am definitely planning on attending opening night,”a fan shared on Twitter via X’s page.
Another person chimed in, saying, “Wow, that’s quite the compliment.”A third individual added, “I can’t believe we’re going to see even better content than the first one. Thank goodness for 2024.”
Although Barber’s statements have addressed some concerns of viewers, there remains a group of fans who still strongly dislike the idea of Joker 2 being a musical.
One fan expressed their uncertainty and lack of enjoyment about the upcoming project, stating, “I’m not sure how I feel about this, didn’t really enjoy the first one.”Another fan acknowledged the success of the first project, saying, “The first one was incredible so I trust them on that.”However, they also mentioned their dislike for musicals and how that may affect their overall opinion of the new project.
“I’m not a big fan of musicals and I don’t think a sequel is necessary. I hope it turns out well, but I’m not particularly thrilled about this one,”a third commenter expressed.
Lady Gaga and Joaquin Phoenix, the actors starring in Joker, will be portraying two individuals who are confined in Arkham Asylum and experience a music-filled hallucination.
The initial expectation was for there to be a time gap, but the trailer for Joker 2 suggests that the film will take place immediately following the events of its predecessor.
