Season 2 of Jujutsu Kaisen has promised to correct its most controversial episode in a new, more polished version.
Jujutsu Kaisen has established itself as the most popular anime of the year, notably thanks to Crunchyroll’s Anime Awards which awarded it numerous prestigious awards. But the animated series is not free of blunders either, and season 2 was the scene of some problems that impacted its production.
As the final episodes were released weekly, MAPPA studio employees began to complain on social media. Unsuitable working conditions and deadlines that were too tight to animate the adaptation of Gege Akutami’s manga were then pointed out.
Almost inevitably, the concern became significant enough to be felt in the viewing of a particular episode, which has since been considered botched – by viewers and hosts alike. However, the studio has promised to correct the errors for the physical release.
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Blu-ray Release Will Add Bonus Scenes to Episode 17
The official website of Jujutsu Kaisen recently announced that volumes 4 and 5 of the Blu-ray and DVD box sets will be released after a special screening in Japan for one week.
Episode 17, which showed the “botched” fight between Sukuna and Mahoraga (or Makora in the VF anime), will then be entitled to a review. Indeed, for the occasion, a popular Jujutsu Kaisen account confirmed on X/Twitter that the Blu-ray version would revise the incriminated sequence, and add additional scenes.
Sukuna vs Mahoraga fight will be corrected and extended in blu-ray version. We will get to witness the full version of some scenes that were cut out in the TV version and some major corrections done in the ep. 🙏#JujutsuKaisen #Sukuna pic.twitter.com/b4J05PBgc8

Despite the controversy from the MAPPA studio, season 2 ended in style thanks to the Crunchyroll Anime Awards, but will not stop there. Because season 3 of Jujutsu Kaisen has already been announced and will adapt the Murderous Hunt arc, highly anticipated by the community.
