Jujutsu Kaisen anime officially named world’s most popular (even ahead of One Piece)

The prestigious records institution based this on numerous data points gathered from various sources on the internet, such as social media activity, streaming and downloading of videos, and various other factors.

This serves as evidence of the widespread appeal of the Jujutsu Kaisen anime, as it was the top-rated series of that year. In addition to this accomplishment, the series also received multiple accolades at the Crunchyroll Anime Awards 2024.

In 2023, Guinness Records confirmed that Jujutsu Kaisen had surpassed Attack on Titan as the most popular animated series. Since 2020, Attack on Titan had held the position, but Jujutsu Kaisen’s rise to popularity was evident. Additionally, One Piece also experienced increased popularity due to the Netflix live-action adaptation, which introduced new viewers to the anime and created more competition for Jujutsu Kaisen.

It should be noted that the aforementioned results were obtained from a variety of sources, including video consumption (both streams and downloads), social media engagement (hashtags, shares, and likes), and research activities such as Google searches. All of these factors contributed to the final results.

According to Parrot Analytics, Jujutsu Kaisen’s global demand rating was approximately 71.2 times higher than the average TV show. The series’ demand rating reached its peak on December 29, with a rating of 128 times, thanks to the highly anticipated season finale which concluded the acclaimed Shibuya Incident arc and set the stage for the third season.

The Influence of the Series on Society and Culture

Despite the growing popularity of the Jujutsu Kaisen anime, the animators at Studio MAPPA have not received the credit they deserve for their hard work. However, their exceptional job has contributed to the success of the anime, with several iconic moments being created for popular culture in 2023.

Moreover, the Jujutsu Kaisen anime has also received recognition for its intense plot, highlighted by the fact that beloved characters are always at risk of meeting their demise, as was evident in the second season of the series.

The utilization of a Jujutsu Kaisen clip to advertise the Super Bowl causes fans to become extremely excited.

The Crunchyroll Anime Awards of 2024 have awarded Jujutsu Kaisen season 2 with the title of Anime of the Year for 2024.

At Jump Festa 2024, Gege Akutami announced that the Jujutsu Kaisen manga will conclude by December
