Despite fans’ initial hopes for a sequel to the Jujutsu Kaisen manga, it was recently announced that the series will come to an end with the release of chapter 271 on September 29, 2024. As of now, there has been no news regarding a sequel.
The Juju Fest 2024, which took place on August 25, 2024, featured announcements about the series. It was later disclosed that these announcements were about a compilation film of the Hidden Inventory arc, commonly known as the Gojo’s Past arc because of its importance as the most influential arc in the series.

Jujutsu Kaisen: The Past of Gojo arc to be Adapted into a Movie
The Hidden Inventory / Gojo’s Past arc, which was covered in the initial episodes of season 2, is scheduled to receive a compilation movie in 2025. This announcement was made during the Juju Fest 2024 event on Sunday, August 25, 2024.
The announcement also disclosed that the anime will participate in the MBS Anime Fes. 2025, scheduled for January 18, 2025, alongside popular series such as Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch of Mercury and WINDBREAKER.
The Hidden Inventory arc in Jujutsu Kaisen was a pivotal and influential storyline in the series, setting the stage for all subsequent events. It primarily centers around the efforts of young Gojo and Geto to rescue Rika Amanai, who is destined to be the next Star Plasma Vessel.
This arc also marks the introduction of Toji Fushiguro, who quickly became one of the most beloved and arguably the most influential characters in the entire series. His role as the catalyst for Gojo’s enlightenment solidified his impact on the story.
Ultimately, Toji’s actions result in Riko’s death, causing Gojo to seek even greater power and leading Geto down a darker path. The studio MAPPA animated the Hidden Inventory arc, which consists of five episodes and is currently streaming on both Crunchyroll and Netflix. Both seasons of the anime are available in both English sub and dub.
The manga’s latest chapter, 267, has just been released and the series is set to conclude on September 29, 2024, with the release of chapter 271. Currently, there is only one movie and two anime seasons with a total of 47 episodes. The second season of Jujutsu Kaisen ended with a full adaptation of the Shibuya Incident arc, and it has been officially announced that the upcoming Culling Games arc will also be adapted into an anime.
