Chapter 254 of the Jujutsu Kaisen manga confirms the return of this character discovered in the animated film Jujutsu Kaisen 0 as he joins the battle against the famous “King of Scourges” .
The Jujutsu Kaisen manga returns after a short break with chapter 254, available since March 24 on MANGA Plus. The latest events allowed us to witness an incredible fight between Atsuya Kusakabe and Ryomen Sukuna. But almost everyone who faced the King of Scourges was defeated.
The series had already teased the Kusakabe fight in chapter 253. Gege Akutami, the creator of Jujutsu Kaisen, even went so far as to highlight it by using Satoru Gojo, Nanami and Mei Mei in a brief flashback where they revealed that Kusakabe was definitely the best Class 1 exorcist.
However, the latest chapter not only features an impressive fight, but it also brings back an unexpected character whose return had been teased for a few days.

Miguel’s first appearance in the main plot thanks to chapter 254
Kusakabe’s defeat is not that surprising, especially when we know that he was facing “the greatest exorcist in history” . After his defeat, Ui Ui rushes to the battlefield to save him. The battle against Sukuna has resulted in several casualties, and it is Ui Ui’s job to transport the dead and injured to Shoko’s house. Thanks to his innate spell, namely Teleportation, he is the only one qualified to do it.
Although Sukuna has seen the young boy act like this before, he is extremely annoyed by this intervention. This is why the King of Plagues awaits the arrival of Ui Ui, the latter not having any offensive capabilities. When Sukuna appears behind him to kill him, Mei Mei’s little brother is helpless and therefore seems totally at his mercy, especially since there is no other exorcist around who could help him.
However, Miguel arrives just in time and saves the young exorcist while mocking Sukuna, who does not recognize him. Miguel says the Plague King must live in a cave since he can’t even identify him. He then adds that these “islanders” must sharpen their senses.
Miguel appeared in the prequel film Jujutsu Kaisen 0, serving as part of Suguru Geto’s team during the Parade of Scourges. He fought against Gojo and lost to him despite his great power. After the incident, Gojo will send Yuta Okkotsu to Africa alongside Miguel, so that the latter can take charge of training the young S-class exorcist. Chapter 254 of Jujutsu Kaisen marks Miguel’s first appearance in the story main, although it has already been mentioned in some chapters.
