The highly anticipated release of Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 256 is scheduled for April 8, 2024, but early spoilers have already surfaced. These spoilers suggest that Yuji may experience a significant transformation in the upcoming chapters, potentially leading to Sukuna’s downfall.
Currently, Yuji is the sole individual capable of striking Sukuna’s soul, enabling him to release Fushiguro and expel the King of Curses from his body. However, there is speculation among fans that another character who vanished during the Shibuya arc could play a crucial role in the ultimate battle against Sukuna.
Nobara Kugisaki is the character who possesses the cursed technique of Straw Doll Technique, which targets the soul of her adversary, similar to how it impacted Mahito in the Shibuya arc. Now that Yuji has placed Sukuna in a vulnerable position, it is only a matter of time before Nobara makes her return to the series.

Nobara’s Crucial Role in the Battle Against Sukuna in Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 256
Based on the spoilers for chapter 256, the chapter began with a flashback of Gojo Satoru giving a lecture on Black Flash. He stated that luck played a more significant role in successfully executing this technique, rather than sheer strength. He also mentioned that although he had performed more Black Flashes than Nanami, the latter had a better track record of consistently demonstrating the technique.
Despite being cornered by the sorcerers, Sukuna remained unfazed in the battle. Despite Yuji and Choso’s efforts to overpower him, Sukuna shifted his focus to Maki and once again struck her with a powerful Black Flash. He then utilized his cursed technique against her before turning his attention back to Choso.
Despite Choso’s attempt to defeat the King of Curses using his cursed technique, Sukuna also struck him with a Black Flash. However, Choso was able to push Sukuna away and Itadori stepped in to deliver a series of punches. Meanwhile, on the other side of the battlefield, Miguel was attempting to flee with Larue. However, Larue refused to leave, stating that there was still something he had to accomplish.
As Itadori’s Black Flash approached, Sukuna felt the danger and attempted to dodge it. However, his focus was suddenly drawn towards Larue, causing the King of Curses to become bewildered. This was a result of Larue’s cursed technique known as ‘Cutie Honey’, which had the ability to captivate and distract opponents.
With Sukuna defenseless in front of him, Itadori delivered a Black Flash. As the chapter came to a close, the narrator revealed that Itadori had successfully unlocked his cursed technique.
In chapter 251, Itadori successfully struck Sukuna’s soul within Megumi’s body, leading Fushiguro to regain control of his body. Sadly, Fushiguro had already given up on life and pleaded with the protagonist to end it. This makes Itadori the sole individual capable of directly attacking Sukuna’s soul.
Now that the protagonist is fully awakened, he is ready to face the King of Curses in the upcoming chapters. However, Gege Akutami has carefully developed the series’ antagonist, making it necessary for Yuji to receive assistance from someone who can strike Sukuna’s soul. Yet, no one on the battlefield is capable of doing so except for him. Fans must pay attention to options outside of the battlefield in order to find a solution.
During Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 125, Nobara sustained serious injuries from Mahito’s cursed technique and was subsequently brought in for treatment. However, she has yet to make a reappearance since then. In previous chapters, Nobara had displayed her exceptional cursed technique against Mahito, proving to be the only one capable of striking his cursed spirit’s soul and posing a threat to his life.
Nobara’s Straw Doll Technique was a cursed technique that allowed her to inflict damage on her opponent by using a body part of theirs on a doll, similar to a voodoo doll ritual.
The potential impact of Nobara’s return on the fight against Sukuna
Currently, Itadori is not anticipating Nobara’s arrival as he believed she was killed by Mahito’s attack. However, her potential return may ultimately determine the victor of the ultimate battle.
If Nobara were to make her return during the current fight against Sukuna, where Itadori is currently winning, it could be the most opportune moment for her. By joining forces with Itadori and utilizing her Straw Doll technique, she could catch both the King of Curses and the protagonist off guard with her unexpected revival.
