The Jujutsu Kaisen manga is currently at the height of its popularity. In the previous chapter, Yuji was revived in the midst of his ongoing confrontation with Sukuna. Fans were eagerly anticipating the exploration of Yuji’s abilities in chapter 257. Unfortunately, according to the spoilers, this revelation will not occur.
Moreover, chapter 257 is set to be an eventful one, holding the possibility of a major revelation in the Jujutsu Kaisen series.
The Origin of Yuji’s Lineage
In Chapter 257 of Jujutsu Kaisen, a flashback shows Sukuna and Uraume discussing Yuji’s birth and Kenjaku’s choice to select him.
Sukuna reveals that he devoured his twin brother while still in their mother’s womb. Leaked information implied that Kenjaku utilized this soul to form Yuji, but recent translations indicate that the soul eventually returned as Jin Itadori, who is Yuji’s biological father.
This suggests that Jin Itadori and Sukuna are twins, resulting in Sukuna being Yuji’s uncle. Uraume wonders if this indicates that Yuji Itadori possesses the same potential as Sukuna.
The Battle Between Yuji and Sukuna Continues
The focus now turns to the ongoing battle between Yuji and Sukuna. Yuji manages to land two additional hits on the King of Curses with his Black Flash attacks, bringing his total to three. The fight rages on as Yuji utilizes Dismantle to slice through a pillar and send it hurtling towards Sukuna.
Despite Sukuna’s retaliatory use of Slash, Yuji skillfully evades the attack and successfully executes a fourth Black Flash. Although Sukuna is taken aback by Yuji’s rapid mastery of his abilities, he maintains that their contrasting origins still remain a factor due to their respective eras of birth.
Ino Joins the Battle
During a flashback, Ino seeks Gojo’s approval to utilize Nanami’s Cursed Tool. Gojo reminds Ino that Nanami had entrusted him with the tool and would have given him permission to use it.
Ino has now entered the battle against Sukuna, using his dragon-summoning ability to attack. However, Sukuna manages to destroy it. Ino is subsequently captured by the King of Curses, but he can sense that Yuji is preparing to take action.
Despite Yuji landing a precise Black Flash on Sukuna, causing him worry, Sukuna swiftly recovers and retaliates with a punch. However, Yuji is able to counterattack and send Sukuna flying into a nearby wall. Despite being grabbed and slashed in the face, Yuji still manages to land another Black Flash on Sukuna.
The chapter comes to an end as Yuji circles behind Sukuna, who is in agony, and delivers the eighth and final Black Flash in their intense battle.
