Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 259: Another Tragic Death Caused by Sukuna

Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 259: Another Tragic Death Caused by Sukuna

Chapter 259 of Jujutsu Kaisen is highly emotional and stands out as one of the most poignant installments in the series. Once again, Sukuna takes the life of a cherished character.

Jujutsu Kaisen is no stranger to tragedies. The plot continually grew bleaker following the Shibuya Incident Arc, in which Kenjaku successfully sealed Satoru Gojo. The catastrophic curses proved to be too much for even the most advanced sorcerers, and to add insult to injury, Sukuna’s unforeseen actions resulted in the destruction of Shibuya.

Despite being aimed at Mahoraga, the attack caused significant collateral damage to Shibuya. In the latest chapter, Sukuna’s fire technique was unveiled. Even though Yuji’s consecutive Black Flashes were able to hinder Sukuna from regaining his Reverse Cursed Technique output, it proved insufficient in stopping him.

Despite his fight with Gojo, the King of Curses has continued to exploit Binding Vows. With the use of Divine Flames in the latest chapter, it became clear that a calamity was imminent. Caution: The following Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 259 contains spoilers!

Choso’s death was met with great tragedy. In a final act of bravery, he erected a blood barrier around Yuji, shielding him from Sukuna’s fiery attack. Despite feeling regret for not being able to contribute more during their training, Choso’s selfless sacrifice was a testament to his character. This same soul world was also seen in Choso’s fabricated memories during the events in Shibuya.

Despite the majority of chairs being empty, only Choso and Yuji remained. In this world, Choso takes pride in Yuji’s ability to learn the Reverse Cursed Technique at a faster pace than himself. He also holds the belief that younger siblings are destined to surpass their older siblings.

Yuji reprimands Choso when he believes the latter is on the verge of disappearing. Nevertheless, Choso acknowledges the need to apologize to Yuki as well. He then expresses remorse to Yuji for once again leaving him alone. Additionally, Choso converses with Eso and Kechizu.

As they return to the present, Choso utters his last words, “Thank you, Yuji, for accepting me as your brother.” Yuji fondly refers to Choso as his elder brother before the latter fades away. Choso expresses regret for having to leave Yuji once again, as he had chosen to live as a curse for the sake of his siblings, leaving Yuji behind.

Despite Yuki’s death, she was able to release Choso from his curse and encouraged him to live as a human. As a result, he spent a short period of time by Yuji’s side as a human and as his older brother. Despite being born as a curse, Choso was able to experience a few days as a human before passing away.
