Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 259 opens with a short flashback, showing Choso’s frustration with Noritoshi Kamo for teaching Yuji Blood Manipulation. Despite his attempts to teach Yuji himself, Choso struggles to effectively explain the technique. Additionally, it is revealed that Yuta Okkotsu is the second person whose soul Yuji swapped with.

Uraume assures Hakari of their victory, while the chapter further elaborates on how Kamino’s heat leads to decompression and overpressure, resulting in the death of all living beings within the domain. However, just before the flames reach Yuji, Choso quickly creates a blood barrier and sacrifices himself to shield Yuji from harm.

As he apologizes to Yuji for not being able to properly teach him, Choso slowly turns to ash. In a realm of souls, he expresses his joy at Yuji surpassing him, as it is the natural order for younger brothers to surpass their older siblings. This scene is reminiscent of Choso’s fabricated memory, but this time, it is only him and Yuji present, with no other siblings around.

Despite Yuji’s desire for Choso to remain, the latter insists on apologizing to Yuki. Choso expresses remorse once more for leaving Yuji’s side and also has a conversation with Eso and Kechizu. Returning to the present, Choso expresses gratitude towards Yuji for being his brother, and in turn, Yuji finally addresses Choso as his “big brother.”

Yuji’s search for his companions proves fruitless, as he is still reeling from the traumatic death of Choso. The narrator reveals that Yuji has always seen himself as a mere cog in the grand scheme of things, but the intense destruction of the land is causing him to question his convictions. Just as all seems lost, Aoi Todo makes a surprise return following the events of the Shibuya Incident Arc.

During another flashback, Mei Mei and Todo converse about their plan to rescue those who were trapped in Sukuna’s domain. They realize that they must collaborate, but Todo is uncertain about the success of using his Boogie Woogie. Regardless, he can sense his Cursed Technique and is determined to attempt it. Unfortunately, Todo was unable to rescue Choso and Yuji from the domain in time.

Although he only mentions that the other sorcerers are “probably alright,”that is enough to give Yuji the encouragement he needs to continue fighting. The chapter concludes with Yuji and Todo charging towards Sukuna.
