Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 261: Tragic Parallel between Gojo and Geto

The spoilers for Chapter 261 of Jujutsu Kaisen have been released, revealing a heartbreaking similarity between the once close friends Gojo and Geto. Fans are unable to stop talking about it.

Despite the presence of several well-developed characters in Jujutsu Kaisen, Satoru Gojo and Suguru Geto stand out in particular. The exploration of their past friendship, which turned into enmity, was a highlight in Gojo’s Past Arc.

Despite being on opposing sides within the Jujutsu society for many years, Gojo and Geto’s bond remained unbreakable. This was evident even when Gojo was forced to take Geto’s life in Jujutsu Kaisen 0, as the two former friends were able to reconcile in one of the most heart-wrenching moments of the series.

After Gojo’s death and his intense battle with Sukuna, Geto briefly returned in the manga. This was considered one of the most shocking deaths in Jujutsu Kaisen, as the most powerful sorcerer of the present was defeated by the strongest sorcerer of the past.

Despite numerous speculations and theories, Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 261 marks Gojo’s return, albeit with a twist. The chapter confirms that Gojo is deceased and his student Yuta has taken over his body.

Yuta replicated Kenjaku’s cursed technique and implanted his brain into Gojo’s deceased body, granting him the use of Gojo’s incredibly powerful Six Eyes and Limitless techniques. While this development increases the likelihood of the sorcerers defeating Sukuna, it also adds a tragic aspect to Gojo’s character in the series.

This recent development also highlights a tragic similarity between Gojo and Geto. Similar to Gojo, Geto’s remains were violated as Kenjaku used his deceased body as a conduit to gain access to his cursed technique and memories.

Despite their deaths, the two best friends, Gojo and Geto, were unable to find true peace as their corpses were used as weapons in the ongoing battles between Special Grade sorcerers. Even in death, they were unable to escape the never-ending cycle of violence and were still utilized as tools for fighting.

Despite being deceased, the tragic parallel between the ill-fated best friends has left many Jujutsu Kaisen fans heartbroken. One user on X expressed their sorrow by stating, “It’s heartbreaking to see best friends suffer the same fate even in death.”

A different user mentions a sad fact about the deceased individuals, remarking, “Neither of them will receive a proper burial.”

Another fan expressed, “It’s sad that both Gojo and Geto’s remains were manipulated, depriving them of true peace even in death.”

Despite the heartbreaking parallel between Gojo and Geto, there is one crucial difference in their circumstances. While Geto’s corpse was used without his consent, Gojo had given Yuta his permission to use his dead body against Sukuna. Nevertheless, this remains a deeply tragic moment in Jujutsu Kaisen.

The release date for Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 261 is set for May 26, 2024.
