Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 262: Yuta’s Controversial Battle in Gojo’s Body Leaves Fans Divided

The long-awaited battle between Yuta and Sukuna finally commenced in chapter 262 of Jujutsu Kaisen, as Yuta now inhabits Gojo’s body. While some fans were thrilled to see the “return”of Satoru Gojo, others were left with mixed emotions due to the noticeable discrepancies between the current Gojo and the real Gojo. This has prompted fans to share their conflicting thoughts on the situation.

Despite initially being a minor highlight and underwhelming part of the story, Yuta’s defeat of Kenjaku with the assistance of Takaba ended up becoming a decisive moment due to the revelation in chapter 261. After emerging victorious, Yuta ordered Rika to consume Kenjaku’s remains, gaining his brain-hopping cursed technique.

Jujutsu Kaisen: How Yuta Enhances Gojo’s Confidence

Although Yuta was aware that transferring his consciousness into Gojo’s stitched-up body was his backup plan, he hesitated and had reservations about actually executing it. This technique was originally stolen from Kenjaku and was known to most sorcerers who were still alive.

The foreshadowing of Gojo’s comeback occurred in chapter 260. At first, the figure appeared to be Gojo, but small distinctions quickly became noticeable. Despite the physical resemblance, Yuta’s behavior and lack of emotion, along with a slower fighting technique, made it clear that Gojo was no longer present.

Despite his death in Chapter 235, Gojo’s passing remains one of the most impactful moments in the Jujutsu Kaisen series and among the fandom. Following his demise, fans wasted no time in speculating about his potential return. The revelation of Yuta possessing Gojo’s body sparked intense debates among readers and to this day, many Gojo enthusiasts continue to discuss the eerie circumstances surrounding the event.

“I like how Gege can clearly show it’s Yuta with just the body language & exressions,”one fan said.

A different fan pointed out the stark contrast between Yuta Okkotsu’s facial expressions and mannerisms, which seemed to deviate greatly from Gojo’s trademark confidence and charisma. In fact, some fans even noticed that Gojo’s own facial expressions appeared altered in comparison.

“Nah the facial expression is too not gojo for it to be gojo,”another fan wrote.

A fan pointed out that Gojo must have faced a similar situation when he encountered Kenjaku, who was possessing Geto’s body. The uncanniness of Geto and Kenjaku’s contrasting tones and mannerisms is likely reminiscent of the current experiences of Gojo fans.

“Omg this is really what Gojo felt when he saw Kenjaku in Geto’s body,”a fan wrote.

A different fan used this chance to point out the similarities between Geto and Megumi’s experiences, as they were both possessed by Kenjaku and Sukuna, respectively. The fan also speculated that another instance of body-hopping may happen in the future, possibly involving Gojo.

“This what geto and megumi fans had to deal with (I’m experiencing it again for the third time),”another fan said.

The official release date for Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 262 is June 9, 2024, and there will be a two-week hiatus following its release.
