Today, July 25, 2024, spoilers for chapter 264 of Jujutsu Kaisen were released and proved to be well worth the wait. The previous chapter, 263, had ended with the return of Hana Kurusu, also known as Angel, who is likely taking over for the injured Yuta/Gojo, whose Copy Technique had been depleted.
During the break, fans eagerly awaited the next phase of this intense battle. It can be said that Team Jujutsu High has gained the upper hand. Despite Sukuna breaking through Jacob’s Ladder and defeating Todo Aoi and Hana, the most exciting moment of the chapter was when Yuji Itadori finally unleashed his Domain Expansion.
Additionally, shortly beforehand, Sukuna regained a crucial skill in the Reverse Cursed Technique (RCT), enabling him to restore his missing arms. However, considering the current circumstances, it appears that he is facing overwhelming odds.
This article includes spoilers for chapter 264 of Jujutsu Kaisen.
Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 264: Sukuna’s Recovery – Too Little, Too Late?
What happened?
The leaked information for Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 264 revealed that Sukuna took advantage of the destroyed ground and used rocks as a foothold to climb up the pillar of light, aiming to defeat Hana with his powerful Black Flash. However, Todo Aoi stepped in and took the hit, causing both sorcerers to be blown back.
Just as Sukuna was about to lose his balance from Yuji’s attack, the boy was suddenly caught off guard by a hard hit from the Demon King, causing him to crash into a building below. However, Sukuna quickly regenerated his lost arms, preventing the teen from taking advantage of the situation.
How Sukuna Regained His RCT
In chapter 264 of Jujutsu Kaisen, the narrator discloses that Sukuna regained his RCT by utilizing 2 more Black Flashes. This aligns with the previous observation that the Black Flash technique has a valuable secondary function. The ability to perform consecutive Black Flashes is effective in restoring a user’s depleted RCT.
As stated in chapter 256, Gojo Satoru was able to restore his depleted RCT by utilizing Black Flash. This technique not only inflicts damage on the target but also provides benefits for the user. Therefore, in this particular instance, Sukuna had previously used Black Flash twice, resulting in the restoration of his RCT and the regeneration of his arms.
Is it Too Little Too Late?
Sukuna’s recovery of his RCT would pose a significant problem for Team Jujutsu as their top fighters have been incapacitated. Up until this point, Todo’s arrival was a significant advantage and Hana’s comeback seemed like the perfect addition. Unfortunately, Sukuna was able to overcome even that obstacle.
Despite everything, Yuji remains standing, and the conclusion of chapter 264 confirms that the moment he has been waiting for has finally arrived. The unveiling of Yuji Itadori’s Domain Expansion was perhaps the most highly anticipated event in the entire series, with endless discussions and predictions surrounding its potential and timing. Yet, Gege Akutami has finally granted it to occur.
Despite the unfamiliar surroundings of the Domain Expansion, Yuji and Sukuna have both been transported to a strange station. With the powerful effects of a Domain, it is uncertain if Sukuna, who is currently weakened, will be able to regain control over Yuji.
Final Thoughts
Despite high expectations from fans, Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 264 did not disappoint. Sukuna continued to display his incredible abilities, effortlessly countering every attack thrown at him. Hana’s reappearance and use of Maximum Output: Jacob’s Ladder appeared to have only slightly slowed him down.
However, he never could have predicted that Yuji would reach the highest level of mastery in Jujutsu sorcery. Additionally, within Yuji’s Domain, Sukuna’s true form has been diminished to the state he was in when he would possess Yuji’s body. With all these factors working against him, Sukuna’s chances of recovering his RCT might be too slim and too late.
