This popular Shonen series is renowned for its harsh narrative. Set in a world where negative emotions manifest into cursed spirits, Jujutsu sorcerers risk their lives to combat these curses and train young apprentices to do the same. However, the fight against these curses is ongoing, as they will persist as long as humanity exists. Additionally, there are curse users who oppose the sorcerers, resulting in significant casualties within the Jujutsu community.
As the anime progresses towards Season 3, the manga approaches its climax, revealing numerous tragedies along the way. The list of fallen characters continues to expand as the sorcerers battle various villains. Here’s a detailed list of characters who have died in Jujutsu Kaisen thus far. (Warning: Spoilers ahead!)
1. Get rid of Itadori
Wasuke was Yuji Itadori’s grandfather, introduced at the outset of the series. As the first character to perish in Jujutsu Kaisen, he raised Yuji after his parents were absent, and Yuji considered him a father figure. Wasuke ultimately succumbed to old age, urging Yuji to assist others in his final moments so he wouldn’t feel lonely in death.
2. Tadashi Okazaki
Tadashi was incarcerated at the Eishu Juvenile Detention Center for running over and killing a young girl while driving unlicensed. He witnessed the cursed womb’s transformation but met his demise when the curse matured and attacked him and other staff. Despite Yuji’s intention to rescue him, Tadashi was already deceased by the time help arrived.
3. Nagi Yoshino
Nagi was Junpei’s mother, offering her son unconditional support and love. Unlike many parents, she encouraged Junpei to follow his own path, even when he skipped school. Tragically, she was killed by a random cursed spirit, a manipulation by Mahito who placed Sukuna’s finger in her home.
4. Junpei Yoshino
Initially an ordinary student, Junpei became a curse user under Mahito’s influence, who cruelly manipulated him and killed his mother to push him further into despair. Despite Yuji’s attempts to intervene, Mahito transformed Junpei into a transfigured human before killing him, deepening Yuji’s hatred for Mahito.
5. Kechizu
Kechizu, the youngest brother of Choso and Eso, was among the Death Paintings. Although he also wielded the Rot and Decay techniques, he was weaker than his siblings. He fought alongside Eso against Yuji and Nobara before being defeated when Nobara’s technique exploded the cursed womb.
6. That
Eso, the middle brother, was stronger than Kechizu and possessed additional techniques beyond Rot and Decay. When Yuji and Nobara initially misidentified the brothers as cursed spirits, it led to a confrontation. Yuji was conflicted after witnessing Eso mourn his brother but ultimately assisted Nobara in killing him during their fight.
7. Suguru Geto
A fan-favorite character, Suguru Geto, known for his antagonistic role in the prequel movie, gained popularity after fans learned his backstory. His death at the hands of Yuta left a profound impact on Gojo, who endured great pain following Suguru’s betrayal. Suguru was fatally wounded by Yuta, who dealt the final blow.
8. Rika Orimo
Rika, Yuta’s childhood friend, died in a car accident when she was only eleven. Due to Yuta’s immense cursed energy and sorrow, Rika became a special-grade apparition bound to him. She remained by his side until Yuta managed to free her soul, yet even after her passing, Rika continued to assist him in battles.
9. Rico Amanai
Riko was a Star Plasma Vessel destined to merge with Master Tengen, whose immortality relied on obtaining new vessels every few centuries. Unfortunately, Riko was assassinated by Toji Fushiguro despite being protected by Gojo and Geto.
10. Misato Kuroi
Misato Kuroi, Riko’s caretaker since childhood, was unable to protect her from the dangers of curses, despite having some skills. After Riko’s tragic death, Misato was taken away, and her death was only hinted at in the series.
11. Toji Fushiguro
Toji, a member of the Zenin Clan, was known for lacking cursed energy but was one of the series’ strongest characters. His exceptional physical abilities allowed him to triumph over special-grade sorcerers. After sustaining serious injuries from Toji, Gojo employed the Reverse Cursed Technique to eliminate the Sorcerer Killer.
12. Yu Haibara
Yu Haibara, a classmate of Kento Nanami and a junior of Gojo and Geto, met his end a year after Riko’s death on a mission involving a Grade 2 curse that turned out to be a powerful deity. Their inexperience cost them dearly, leading to his untimely death, prompting Gojo to take revenge on the curse.
13. Kokichi Muta (Mechamaru)
Kokichi Muta’s death marked the beginning of the Shibuya Incident arc. He assisted Mahito in infiltrating Jujutsu School to gain a normal body. Shortly after achieving this, Mahito killed Kokichi before the start of the chaotic Shibuya Incident.
14. Cherry Blossom
Hanami, an unregistered special-grade cursed spirit allied with Jogo, Dagon, and Mahito, was tasked with holding Gojo during the Prison Realm activation. After witnessing the brutal murders of civilians, Gojo retaliated and easily killed Hanami.
15. Ogami
Ogami, a curse user, joined forces with Kenjaku to contain Gojo and enable her to commit crimes freely. Her ability to summon information from the deceased backfired when she summoned Toji, leading to her demise.
16. Dagon
Dagon, an earlier character who gained significance in the Shibuya Incident arc, faced off against a team including Nanami, Naobito, Maki, and Megumi. Despite their efforts, they couldn’t contend with Dagon’s power. However, Toji, guided purely by instinct, unexpectedly killed Dagon.
17. Naobito Zenin
Head of the Zenin Clan and a powerful sorcerer, Naobito played a vital role in Dagon’s defeat. However, following Dagon’s defeat, Jogo arrived and incinerated the already injured sorcerers, leading to Naobito’s death a few days later.
18. Mimiko Hasaba
Suguru adopted Mimiko and her twin sister, Nanako, after rescuing them from an abusive village. Both sisters were curse users who aided Suguru during his schemes. After asking Sukuna for help, Mimiko was killed when Sukuna exploded her head in annoyance.
19. Nanako Hasaba
Upon discovering Mimiko’s death, Nanako charged at Sukuna. Unfortunately for her, she was swiftly killed as Sukuna grew impatient with her harassment. The tragic demise of the sisters reflects their desperate attempt to liberate Geto’s body from Kenjaku.
20. Game
Jogo pressured Yuji into consuming Sukuna’s fingers, attempting to recruit him but ultimately facing wrath instead. The brief confrontation resulted in Sukuna causing extensive destruction in Shibuya before acknowledging Jogo, leading the cursed spirit to his last moments.
21. Haruta Shigemo
Haruta, a curse user, allied with Kenjaku and attacked sorcerers. Despite initially surviving an encounter with Nanami, he later attempted to kill Megumi but faced swift retribution from Sukuna, who decimated him during his rampage.
22. Kento Nanami
Famed as a beloved character, Nanami’s shocking demise occurred after sustaining severe injuries. Despite his condition, he fought against transfigured humans until Mahito ultimately obliterated him, leaving Yuji grief-stricken and adding to his trauma.
23. Mahito
Embodiment of chaos, Mahito relished tormenting others and met his demise at the hands of Yuji, his natural opponent. However, before Yuji could eliminate him, Kenjaku absorbed Mahito using Geto’s ability.
24. Mai Zenin
In a treacherous plot against her family, Mai sacrificed herself to create an armament for her twin sister, Maki. Despite their dire situation, this act allows Maki to break free from the family’s constraints and fuel her vengeance.
25. Ogi Zenin
Ogi, who aspired to lead the Zenin Clan, held a deep-seated disdain for his own daughters, considering them weaker. When faced with the sisters, he failed to anticipate Mai’s last-minute sacrifice, resulting in his death by Maki’s hands.
26. Chojuro Zenin

27. Jinichi Zenin
