Jujutsu Kaisen: Coming back weaker than before might be the character development Gojo needed all along

Jujutsu Kaisen: Coming back weaker than before might be the character development Gojo needed all along

Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 260 lived up to its hype, showcasing the epic return of the upgraded Todo Aoi. This was a much-needed boost for Team Jujutsu High, particularly for Yuji Itadori. The chapter concluded with a gripping cliffhanger, teasing the comeback of fan-favorite Gojo Satoru – a moment that has been eagerly anticipated by fans.

Despite the many theories regarding his identity, there is another proposition that explains why he is believed to be him. According to this proposition, the entity known as “the strongest ghost”Ryomen Sukuna is actually Gojo. However, upon his return, he is not the same as he once was.

Please note that this article contains speculation.

Jujutsu Kaisen: Gojo’s Character Development Through Weaker Return

Out of all the theories proposed regarding Gojo’s comeback, this one is the most suitable. It suggests that Gojo Satoru has returned to the battlefront to oversee the final showdown. However, it is important to note that he is no longer the most powerful sorcerer, and this is precisely the reason for his return. The explanation for this is also logical.

Initially, the fact that he returned weaker than before serves as the necessary character development. He perished in battle with unmet aspirations – his ultimate desire was to witness a transformed Jujutsu society and he needed to inform Megumi about his father. Additionally, his affection for his students motivated him to not want them to suffer and ultimately meet their demise in the conflict. This provides a compelling justification for his unwillingness to remain deceased.

It is believed that prior to his death, he made a Binding Vow to sacrifice one of his Six Eyes in order to be brought back to life. He understood that this would mean he would not be exactly the same as before, but he accepted this outcome. Although he would not be the strongest, he also wouldn’t be the original Gojo Satoru.

His character development would greatly benefit from all of this, which was exactly what he needed. In the past, he had become known as “the Strongest”by learning to depend on himself and no one else. However, if he were to return in this manner, he would have to rely on his comrades once again and not go at it alone. Furthermore, this would give him the opportunity to witness his students surpass him, a belief that he strongly held onto.

One crucial factor is the response to the highly debated question posed by Suguru Geto: “Are you considered the strongest because you are Satoru Gojo, or are you Satoru Gojo because you are the strongest?”. His comeback without one of his Six Eyes will serve as an answer to this inquiry, although only time will reveal the manner in which he responds.

Ultimately, the most crucial moment in Jujutsu Kaisen was when Megumi was saved. The dark-haired boy’s will to fight and live had been completely shattered by the events that had unfolded. Despite Yuji’s efforts to reach him, he was unable to save him.

Gojo’s comeback could potentially be the solution to rescuing Megumi as he may be the sole person capable of truly reaching him. It is a well-known fact that Gojo and Megumi share a strong bond. After Toji entrusted Megumi to Gojo, the Six Eyes user took on the role of his adoptive father and mentor. For fans, there is nothing more powerful than Gojo making a sacrificial return to save Megumi.

There has been speculation about Gojo returning without his Six Eyes, or possibly even without both of them. However, these theories were proposed before the story had reached its current point. With the recent events that have taken place and his return appearing to be imminent, this theory now holds more credibility.

It is not uncommon for creator Gege Akutami to include unexpected twists in the story. One possibility could be Gojo sacrificing one of his Six Eyes in order to come back and participate in the final stages of the battle. If this were to happen, it would be a brilliant move in terms of storytelling. However, it is currently just a theory and much will depend on the upcoming chapter.
