Jujutsu Kaisen Creator Shares New Art Avatar and Fans Adore It

Jujutsu Kaisen enthusiasts are raving about Gege Akutami’s charming new art avatar, which was recently unveiled at the franchise’s exhibition in Tokyo.

Jujutsu Kaisen has gained popularity for its intense storytelling and exploration of dark themes. The accumulation of negative emotions leads to the creation of cursed spirits, putting the safety of the people at risk. In order to combat these curses, Jujutsu sorcerers put their lives on the line and mentor young students to do the same.

The fight against curses is an eternal one, as long as humans continue to exist. Even though the third season of the anime is in the process of being made, the manga is approaching its end and has its own share of heartbreaking moments.

It is common for mangakas to maintain anonymity and utilize art avatars to represent themselves. One such example is Gege Akutami, the creator of Jujutsu Kaisen, who uses a one-eyed cat avatar.

The latest version of his avatar features a one-eyed cat with a tail drawn to resemble a pen tip, while previous versions of the avatar typically showed the character holding a pen.

The exhibition of Jujutsu Kaisen at Shibuya Hikarie shopping center in Tokyo provides a glimpse into the creative process behind the franchise’s narratives, characters, and artwork. It features early storyboards and sketches, along with insights from the mangaka through a Q&A session.

The ongoing exhibition offers visitors the opportunity to purchase a special booklet containing all the necessary information. Additionally, the new avatar was revealed at the exhibition.

The person who leaked the information said, “Gege’s new avatar reminds me of the Dokkaebi from ORV, minus the pen tip tail.”

One fan remarked, “That devil spawn has a tail. I have a feeling another beloved character will meet their end next week.”

Another person commented that “Bro believes that if he portrays himself as an adorable cat, we will forgive him.”

Another fan also shared their thoughts, stating: “Gege’s humor is unmatched. He reminds us that when we get angry with him, we are essentially being unkind to ourselves.”
