Jujutsu Kaisen Director Returns Very Soon With Bloody Original Anime

Ninja Kamui, the new project from the director of Jujutsu Kaisen, now has its release date. Revenge, fighting, all served with excellent animation, this is what awaits spectators for this new original anime.

Revenge is a dish best served cold, and Ninja Kamui intends to demonstrate it: the new original anime from the director of Jujutsu Kaisen and The God of High School, Sunghoo Park, got its release date in a trailer as bloody as it is exciting.

If spectators are used to finding adaptations of more or less famous manga alongside animated series, it happens that certain works do without a paper support to present themselves directly in the arena: the original animes are not so present, but very often they take on an aura of quality. Because we don’t entrust them to just anyone.

This time, it’s a renowned director who will be able to present his brand new project.

Sunghoo Park presents Ninja Kamui, its new original anime

His name may mean something to you, and rightly so: Sunghoo Park has been at the helm of very big projects, such as The God of High School, the first season of Jujutsu Kaisen and the film Jujutsu Kaisen, or even the recent prequel to One Piece, Monsters by Eiichiro Oda.

But far from being content to honor the mangas and manhwas that he adapts for small and large screens, the director this time focused on an original creation. Ninja Kamui is therefore an animated series, announced during San Diego Comic Con, and planned for the year 2024.

It was in fact presented in July 2023 in a first trailer – in which the hero surprisingly had blond hair. On this occasion, the director summarized the story in these terms: “This anime is an original work, in which the main character, Higan, takes revenge on a ninja organization that killed his family.

“We sought to move away from the action and narratives that already exist in ninja films. Especially when it comes to action, we tried to combine live-action and pure animation.”

The 12-episode anime being created in collaboration with the Adult Swim channel, it is on the channel that you will have to watch (available via a subscription to Prime Video).
