Based on spoilers, the flashback in chapter 256 featured Gojo Satoru explaining to his students that Black Flash relies heavily on luck rather than sheer power. The most powerful sorcerer also acknowledged that Nanami Kento excels in consecutive Black Flashes, but Gojo Satoru surpasses him in terms of the total number of uses of this cursed technique.

The chapter then shifted back to the present timeline and revealed that Itadori Yuji had surpassed Gojo Satoru in the total number of Black Flash counts. As a result, every sorcerer gathered around the King of Curses, knowing that Sukuna could potentially awaken his reverse curse technique after using Black Flash on Larue. A grand attack was imminent.

Yuji and Choso were the first to attack, with Yuji jumping onto the King of Curses while Choso used his Blood Manipulation technique. Maki soon joined the fight, delivering a stab to Sukuna’s chest. Despite their efforts, Sukuna easily evaded all their attacks and even managed to hit Maki with a Black Flash, grinning in satisfaction.

The King of Curses then utilized dismantle to guarantee that Maki remained locked out for an extended period. Sukuna then directed his dismantle towards Choso, who attempted to defend against it with his cursed technique but ultimately found himself pushed against a wall and unable to resist.

Luckily, Itadori quickly arrived and used his punches to push the King of Curses away from Choso. Later, Itadori successfully used his recently acquired Blood Manipulation technique to attack Sukuna.

While this was taking place, Miguel lifted a seriously wounded Larue and declared that their task was complete and it was now time to flee. However, Larue insisted that he still had a responsibility to fulfill due to his cursed technique, and he had some energy remaining.

A notable trait of his cursed technique was unveiled: it could not only control a person’s physical body, but also their emotions. This power was demonstrated on Sukuna, rendering him immobile. Seizing the opportunity, Itadori Yuji delivered a powerful strike known as the Black Flash. The chapter concluded with the line:

“BY UNLOCKING HIS POTENTIAL THROUGH BLACK FLASH, AMIDST THE SCATTERING BLACK SPARKS, ITADORI YUJI AWAKENS”

In the previous chapter, it was revealed that Sukuna was able to regain his reverse cursed technique by using Black Flash on Larue. This suggests that Black Flash plays a crucial role in the series, as it jumpstarts a sorcerer’s cursed technique. Sukuna learned this technique from Gojo Satoru during their battle of the strongest, which may have also influenced Itadori Yuji’s development.

Despite not displaying any abilities, the narration in Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 256 suggested that Itadori Yuji may have already awakened his cursed technique. As a result, fans can anticipate the protagonist finally getting the attention he deserves in the upcoming chapters.
