Jujutsu Kaisen Ending May Offscreen Hakari vs. Uraume, and Fans Are Disappointed

As the release week for the upcoming issue of Jujutsu Kaisen began, fans were also treated to the start of the spoiler process for the series. This included confirmation of the remaining lifespan of the manga, which is officially set to end on Monday, September 30, 2024 after the release of the next five chapters.

Despite there being multiple concerns that Jujutsu Kaisen fans have, one of the largest is related to the ongoing battle between Kinji Hakari and Uraume in Shinjuku. Despite this ongoing conflict, fans have yet to see a dedicated focus on the fight and are worried that they may not see it before the series concludes.

Jujutsu Kaisen Fans Express Disappointment over Possible Lack of Focus on Hakari vs. Uraume Battle

Despite receiving confirmation from official sources about the imminent conclusion of Jujutsu Kaisen, fans are still convinced that Hakari vs. Uraume will not be given much attention. This belief is largely based on the fact that the series has more pressing matters to address and resolve, including the final showdown between Yuji and Sukuna, Megumi Fushiguro’s reappearance, the aftermath of the Merger, and other important plot points.

Taking this into consideration, it appears that the fight, which has been mostly ignored throughout the entire arc, is not a top priority for the remaining five installments. Additionally, if the focus were to suddenly shift to the skirmish between the two, it would mean less attention on major plot points. This approach would likely only attract more criticism from fans for prioritizing the fight over these significant advancements.

It is worth noting that the majority of the Jujutsu Kaisen fanbase is in agreement about not witnessing the Hakari vs. Uraume fight and not wanting it to happen due to the limited time left in the manga. This is noteworthy because anime fandoms are typically known for having diverse opinions, making the consensus on this matter even more disappointing.

Despite the limited screen time for Hakari in the series, his popularity as a character is a major factor contributing to the uniformity of reactions towards him. His unique powers and abilities are highly praised by fans, making him one of the most engaging and enjoyable characters. This, coupled with the knowledge that he will only have one major on-screen fight before the series ends, likely drives much of the online discussion surrounding him.

Fan Reactions

As previously stated, the fans of the series are in unanimous agreement that the ending of the series should have included the Hakari vs. Uraume battle. Although other arguments have also been made, the conflict between Hakari and Uraume remains a major point of contention among fans.

“can’t wait for sukuna to die with no backstory, uraume being offscreened so we never see them fight hakari, no mention of the merger and then a time skip where yujis a teacher at the school teaching megumi and hana’s kid,” ranted one fan.

“we’re getting no merger, no hakari vs uraume continuation, no heian era arc…what is gege cooking,” questioned another.

“JJK ends in 5 chapters and we still got nothing of substance with Hakari vs Uraume,” pointed out a third.

Despite the ongoing Shinjuku Showdown arc, fans are still shocked and disappointed by the lack of focus on Hakari and Uraume’s fight. Many have expressed their concerns that shifting the focus to this battle at this point would only bring more disappointment rather than enjoyment.

“Hakari vs uraume 100% anime original [5x fire emojis],” pointed out one fan as a possible solution to this issue.

“Bro Hakari/Uraume just isn’t happening LMFAO,” another readily accepted.

“I hope he doesn’t tell us what hakari and uraume have been up to,” plainly protests a third.

Despite some initial anticipation for the showdown between Hakari and Uraume in the final chapters of Jujutsu Kaisen, it is evident that fans are disappointed with the direction the story is taking. The recent news of the series’ ending has diminished any hope for this fight to be the main focus. In fact, many are now hoping for the plot to shift towards more significant and impactful storylines.
