Jujutsu Kaisen: fans can no longer do without the Cartoon makeover

Jujutsu Kaisen delivered visual slaps to viewers, but one fan wanted to see what the characters would look like in an early 2000s cartoon.

Since its first broadcast in October 2020, Jujutsu Kaisen has become one of the most important franchises in the shonen genre. The manga by Gege Akutami was already popular in its field, and it must be recognized that the MAPPA studio succeeded in bringing out its qualities in anime format.

With the series growing ever more popular, especially after the release of season 2 and the recent events in the manga, the community has not skimped on fanart and other creations. This is where another version appeared on the web, presenting the characters in a style strongly reminiscent of Cartoon Network productions. And the opinion of spectators is clear: it really works!

Cartoon Network version of Jujutsu Kaisen delights fans

The redesign of Jujutsu Kaisen in a style reminiscent of 90s/2000s cartoons was posted on TikTok, and immediately captivated aficionados.

tiktok: @shizzeka

It was the user @shizzeka who posted a gallery of different scenes involving the characters, and all of them perfectly capture the atmosphere and often light-hearted attitude of the casting invented by Gege Akutami.

As some comments have pointed out, the style of Genndy Tartakovsky, creator of Samurai Jack, could be a perfect fit for Jujutsu Kaisen. It must be said that the production of Cartoon Network and Adult Swim was strongly inspired by many works from Japanese animation.

Unfortunately for those who were already getting excited, the idea of a remake is pure fantasy. However, the MAPPA studio has already proven itself with Jujutsu Kaisen, and season 3 should succeed in making people forget the idea.
