Jujutsu Kaisen fans fill Geto and Gojo’s absence with Taro Sakamoto from Sakamoto Days in a way nobody imagined

Despite the announcement of the Sakamoto Days anime and the reveal of Taro Sakamoto’s character design, it seems that Jujutsu Kaisen fans are still fixated on their beloved characters, Satoru Gojo and Suguru Geto, as they continue to eagerly mention them at every opportunity.

Despite the passing of both Satoru Gojo and Suguru Geto in the Jujutsu Kaisen manga, their presence can still be seen in the anime a few more times. However, it won’t be long before they are completely removed from all media. As a result, fans of the series are eagerly searching for the next best thing.

Comparing the Similarities Between Taro Sakamoto from Sakamoto Days and Gojo and Geto from Jujutsu Kaisen

On Monday, May 27, 2024, the creators of the Sakamoto Days anime officially announced its upcoming adaptation. Along with this announcement, the anime released a teaser visual, trailer, and character designs. While the overall animation by TMS Entertainment received positive feedback, Jujutsu Kaisen fans were particularly impressed by the character design of the series’ protagonist, Taro Sakamoto, in his younger form.

Taro Sakamoto’s character design featured a hairstyle reminiscent of Suguru Geto’s, but his hair color was more akin to Satoru Gojo’s.

Therefore, a Jujutsu Kaisen enthusiast coined the nickname “Gojo Suguru”for the new anime lead, cleverly combining elements from both Gojo Satoru and Suguru Geto’s names. As a result, a disagreement between fans of Jujutsu Kaisen and Sakamoto Days arose on X.

Reactions from Fans Regarding Comparisons

Despite it being a day for celebrating the adaptation of Sakamoto Days, fans were disappointed when Jujutsu Kaisen fans tried to shift the focus to their own series.

“as a fan of both SakaDays and JJK, this is upsetting. SakaDays anime teaser trailer and character design just dropped today; why are y’all making it about JJK all of a sudden?! Leave this series alone!!,”one fan said.

“me when i only consume media on the basis of whether or not i find the characters sexually attractive (lame),”another added.

A different anime enthusiast observed that fans of Jujutsu Kaisen were more interested in the appearance of the characters rather than the quality of the story.

To JJK fans, Sakamoto Days fans also wanted to make it clear that they preferred if they refrained from getting involved with their beloved series.

“No god no pls weird JJK fandom pls stay away from this franchise,”another fan said.

“don’t ever compare my goat sakamoto to a mid character again,”another added.

“Peoples acting like sakamoto days was some niche manga is so funny to me lmao dawg this shi is mainstream as hell,”another fan said.

On the other hand, some advised JJK fans against comparing their characters to those in Sakamoto Days. This was because the latter held their characters in great esteem for their stories, unlike the former who only seemed to value their characters’ appearances.

Despite this, some JJK fans argued that Sakamoto Days fans had no authority to demand that they refrain from referencing their series. This was because Sakamoto Days was a widely popular and mainstream series, unlike what the Sakamoto Days fans were portraying.
