Jujutsu Kaisen: fans furious following this disrespectful message towards Satoru Gojo

A comment at the end of chapter 254 of the Jujutsu Kaisen manga annoyed fans of the famous Satoru Gojo, perceived as a lack of respect towards the very popular S-class exorcist.

Satoru Gojo is certainly the most popular character in Jujutsu Kaisen. He is not only the most powerful exorcist in Gege Akutami’s manga, but also a fun and loving teacher who always looks out for his students. This is why the disappearance of the protagonist is one of the most controversial moments in history.

A popularity that continues, even though he is no longer present in the plot. Because Gojo’s powers seem to far surpass the abilities of other characters in the Jujutsu Kaisen universe, both on the human side and on the Scourge side. In the entire story, there is only one character who seems capable of defeating him, and that is Ryomen Sukuna, nicknamed the King of Plagues.

Fans had also learned that Gojo’s birth had completely shifted the balance of power. Which further supports his impact in the story and his clear superiority compared to the other characters. However, the manga editor’s latest comment has angered Gojo’s fans, many of whom think their favorite has been undervalued and disrespected.

When the publisher of Jujutsu Kaisen disrespects the fan favorite character

Indeed, a reflection from the editor of Jujutsu Kaisen putting Satoru Gojo and the exorcist Miguel on an equal footing did not go down well with fans, who expressed their dissatisfaction on social networks.

Manga chapters often end with a comment from the editor who wants fans hyped about the next upcoming chapter. Fans were thus able to get a glimpse of the commentary for chapter 254 of Jujutsu Kaisen, shared online a few days before its release: “Miguel, the man who faced Gojo Satoru on equal terms, joins the fight!”

The Internet user then explains to us that the comment refers to Miguel using the following characters: “渡り合う” , which means “on equal terms” . A remark which therefore implies that Gojo and Miguel would be equivalent in terms of powers. However, Jujutsu Kaisen fans know that the truth is very different.

While chapter 254 marks Miguel’s first appearance in the main story, this master of plagues appeared in the animated film Jujutsu Kaisen 0, a prequel in which he had a minor antagonist role. He was part of Suguru Geto’s team and fought Gojo during the Parade of Plagues. Miguel’s task was to keep Gojo busy while Geto attacked Yuta Okkotsu.

There’s no denying that Miguel is a powerful character, which explains why Gojo asked Yuta to follow him to Africa to become stronger. However, even if Miguel managed to keep Gojo busy for a few moments, we can hardly say that the two characters have an equal power level, especially when we see that Miguel struggles to stand up to him during their confrontation. Even with his famous Black Ropes, Miguel put up only weak resistance against the holder of the Sixth Eye, as an Internet user recalled by sharing an excerpt of the fight between Miguel and Gojo.

And although some recognize that Miguel was indeed able to survive Gojo’s attacks, the majority of Internet users obviously did not appreciate that the most popular character of Jujutsu Kaisen was put on the same level as a “mere” master of scourges initially recruited by Geto.

“The editor’s comment should be deleted, he doesn’t even know what he’s talking about”

“The editor saying ‘on equal terms’ knowing that Miguel was totally dominated/shaken like a baby by Gojo with one eye, no spell no occult energy no nothing, just bare hands”

“How can you say Miguel fought Gojo on equal terms?.. Don’t make me laugh, the editor probably has amnesia or something. Anyway, Miguel is going to be cooked by Sukuna… his presence makes no difference. WE NEED GOJO BACK!!”
