As revealed in the spoilers for Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 259, the chapter opens with a flashback to Itadori’s training session. Kamo and Choso can be seen attempting to instruct him in the fundamentals of Blood Manipulation.

Kamo intervenes as Choso intends to instruct the protagonist on how to use the ‘Supernova’ technique, which he believes would be excessive. Kamo points out that all Itadori needs to learn is how to stop his bleeding, causing Choso to doubt his teaching abilities for his brother. Furthermore, the chapter hints at the possibility that Itadori has switched bodies with Yuta after Kusakabe, suggesting that the protagonist may still have a trick up his sleeve.

Afterward, the chapter revisits the ongoing battle, with Itadori lying on the ground as Sukuna’s Divine Flame engulfs the surrounding area. Despite the incomplete state of the King of Curses’ Divine Flames, he manages to complete them through a Binding Vow.

The chapter also explained Sukuna’s decision to not use Divine Flame during his battle with Gojo, due to the unstable conditions of his domain which required him to seal the flames. With Sukuna now unleashing his flame-cursed technique, he aimed to eliminate Itadori and end the protagonist’s life.

Thankfully, Choso was able to use his Blood Manipulation to create a protective barrier around Itadori, sacrificing himself in the process. Following his death, the two brothers were transported to the dining table that had first appeared during their battle in the Shibuya arc. There, Choso expressed his remorse for not being a better mentor to his younger brother.

After exchanging final farewells, Choso bid his thanks to Itadori for being a brother to him. The protagonist was consumed with despair over the loss of Choso, reminiscent of the Shibuya arc in Jujutsu Kaisen when Mahito kills Nanami in front of Itadori. But just as before, Aoi Todo appeared just in time to stop Itadori from succumbing to the flames of Sukuna.

Despite his single arm, Todo confidently stated that he could still hear Boggie Woggie’s heartbeat. As they neared Sukuna for their 2-on-1 showdown, it was impossible to predict Gege Akutami’s intentions for the ultimate clash between the King of Curses and the sorcerers.

Despite the immense love for Jujutsu Kaisen, many fans directed their frustration towards the author, Gege Akutami. In the Culling Game arc, Yuki Tsukumo selflessly sacrificed herself against Kenjaku, allowing Choso to continue living as a human and a big brother. However, some fans feel that the author disregards the fandom’s feelings by choosing to kill off characters while protecting Itadori.

Unfortunately, some members of the fandom began to question Choso’s actions, even though he was only trying to make up for his father’s mistake and be a supportive brother to Itadori by teaching him Blood Manipulation. One fan even went as far as blaming Gege Akutami for including Aoi Todo as one of Itadori’s brothers, while seemingly disregarding Choso’s presence. This sparked frustration and disappointment among some fans.

“So yuki died for choso to “live on as a human”and gege keeled him off anyway”a fan argued

“why choso man what did he even do except wind up with a sh*tty dad and still turn out to be a wonderful eldest brother like? ??????”another fan said

“Gege saw ppl wanting Todo back and decided to pack up Choso in exchange, this man is sick”another one said
