Jujutsu Kaisen fans prepare for the manga’s biggest volume yet

The next volume of Jujutsu Kaisen contains the biggest chapters yet, and fans are brimming with excitement to get their hands on it.

Jujutsu Kaisen took a huge leap forward in 2023 with the start of Season 2 of the anime and the battle between Sukuna and the Exorcists in the manga. The animated series received an incredible reception, far surpassing the first season. Finally, according to Oricon, the franchise ranked third among the most profitable in 2023 regarding anime and manga.

This renewed popularity is largely due to a very particular character: Satoru Gojo, owner of the Sixth Eye, who distinguished himself as much in the series with the arc on his past as in the pages drawn by Gege Akutami.

As the next volume has secured its release date in Japan, fans can’t help but jump into wild theories. Between the publication of the most controversial chapter of Jujutsu Kaisen, or the question of the cover, the debates seem endless on social networks.

Warning: Jujutsu Kaisen spoilers ahead!

Why is Jujutsu Kaisen Volume 26 Important?

Jujutsu Kaisen Volume 26 will be released in Japan on April 4, 2024 and will include chapters 228 to 236. Chapters in which major events take place!

Gojo’s death shook the entire fan community in the fall of 2023, and even now, some netizens continue to hope for a strong comeback. But beyond these hopes, we will also have to count on the fight between Sukuna and Yuji’s mentor.

In addition, since the series has the habit of presenting a character on the covers of the books, there is a good chance that volume 26 will be the opportunity to show Satoru Gojo. The Exorcist not surviving these chapters, this would be, according to fans, the last real opportunity for the author to highlight him.

However, we must also make do with the humor of the author, who likes to play on the nerves of his readers – especially when it comes to Gojo.

“I’m 99% sure that the cover of JJK Volume 26 will be Gojo, but I have 1% doubt because I can’t fully trust Gege.”

“I can’t think of anyone other than Gojo for the 26th cover, but if Gege changes plans I bet it’ll ruin our fun lol.”

Another question arises: since Gojo’s death occurred off-camera, volume 26 of Jujutsu Kaisen could reveal what many fans believe really happened. After all, it’s not uncommon to see additional scenes or corrections in manga.

Finally, the release of volume 26 of Jujutsu Kaisen can also be seen as a way to end his mourning. In any case, this is what a somewhat extreme user on X/ Twitter suggested, explaining that he planned to buy the manga to “rip out chapter 36 and burn it.”

In the meantime, Gege Akutami seems a little overwhelmed by all these projects concerning the news of his work: while fans await the cover of volume 26 and rumors speak of a special event in Shonen Jump for the anniversary of manga, some pages of chapter 252 seem sloppy. To the point that fans were worried about the author of Jujutsu Kaisen.
