Jujutsu Kaisen fans question Gojo and Sukuna’s fight in Chapter 259

The latest installment of Jujutsu Kaisen, Chapter 259, uncovers a particular aspect of Sukuna’s fire technique that has caused fans to doubt the outcome of his battle against Gojo.

Currently in the midst of the Shinjuku Showdown Arc, Jujutsu Kaisen has seen Sukuna emerge as a seemingly unbeatable opponent, having already defeated numerous adversaries and even taking the life of a beloved character. Despite this, there remains only one character with the ability to defeat Sukuna: Satoru Gojo.

Sukuna’s utilization of the Ten Shadows Technique, specifically Mahoraga, gave him a slight advantage in the lengthy battle against Gojo, making it the longest fight in the series. Thanks to this powerful technique and Megumi’s Shikigami, Sukuna was able to overcome Gojo’s Infinity and emerge as the ultimate victor.

There have been ongoing debates about whether Sukuna would have emerged victorious without Mahoraga’s assistance. Some have suggested that Sukuna possessed additional abilities that he did not showcase during the battle. This could potentially allude to his destructive fire technique, known to be incredibly powerful.

During the intense battle between Gojo and Sukuna, many spectators were perplexed as to why Sukuna refrained from utilizing his formidable fire technique. This technique was notorious for its ability to vanquish both Jogo and Mahoraga with a single strike, and surely would have been a valuable asset in Sukuna’s fight against Gojo.

However, the latest installment of Jujutsu Kaisen, Chapter 259, unveiled that Sukuna was unable to utilize the fire technique against Gojo, as opposed to simply choosing not to. This technique, originally referred to as Fuga and currently recognized as Kamino, involves utilizing the dust produced by the Malevolent Shrine as ingredients and utilizing fire as the “hearth”to “cook”them.

During the battle between Gojo and Sukuna, Sukuna was forced to repeatedly alter the barrier of his domain in order to defend against Gojo’s Unlimited Void technique. As Gojo had limited the size of his domain to that of a ball, Sukuna was also limited in his ability to generate dust and utilize Kamino effectively.

Without the Ten Shadows Technique, Sukuna would not have had much in his favor. Mahoraga was crucial in allowing him to surpass Infinity, and he lacked any means to defend against the formidable power of Hollow Purple.

Despite his skills, Gojo faced a significant disadvantage against Mahoraga due to the latter’s abilities. Gojo’s Red and Blue techniques were limited in their effectiveness as Mahoraga quickly adapted to them, and even his powerful Infinity technique was countered by the Shikigami.

Despite the interference of Mahoraga, many Jujustu Kaisen fans are convinced that Gojo and Sukuna’s fight would have had a different outcome. A user on Reddit expressed their thoughts, stating that without the help of 10S, Sukuna would have easily been defeated by Gojo’s Unlimited Void attack.

Yet another participant joined the conversation, stating, “So, it’s confirmed that Fuga won’t be of any help during Gojo’s fight. Without Mahoraga, Sukuna wouldn’t have been able to come up with a solution to overcome the infinity.”

A third fan pointed out, “Another aspect that I haven’t seen mentioned is Gojo’s deliberate avoidance of using red and blue too frequently in his battle against Mahoraga, as he didn’t want his opponent to become accustomed to those colors.”

The debate surrounding the battle between Gojo and Sukuna is likely to continue indefinitely within the Jujutsu Kaisen community.
