Jujutsu Kaisen Fans React to Chapter 268: Sukuna’s Defeat

Despite the end of Sukuna, fans are still excited for the reunion of Yuji, Megumi, and Nobara in Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 268. Many believe this will be the highlight of the chapter.

The latest chapter of Jujutsu Kaisen, Chapter 268, brings us one step closer to the series’ conclusion. In this chapter, Sukuna is forcibly removed from Megumi’s body just before his death, finally freeing the young sorcerer. Additionally, we witness the resolution of the ongoing battle between Hakari and Uraume, which until now had taken place off-screen.

Despite the numerous significant events packed into this chapter, it is inevitable for readers to feel overwhelmed. Nevertheless, there have been numerous complaints about the chapter being too hastily paced and underwhelming, beginning with Sukuna’s demise.

Once separated from Megumi’s body, Sukuna shrinks into a bug-like form and ultimately meets his demise. As a result, Hakari and Uraume call off their fight in Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 268.

Despite both being equally injured, it can be concluded that their fight is far from over. However, Uraume senses Sukuna’s impending death and chooses to end their own life, bringing an unexpected and anti-climactic end to the battle.

The subsequent section of the chapter depicts Megumi and Nobara discovering letters left behind by Gojo. Among these letters, Nobara finds information about her mother, despite previously claiming she had no interest in knowing. Meanwhile, Gojo reveals to Megumi his involvement in his father’s death. Ultimately, the chapter concludes with the group heading towards Yuta, intending to offer their assistance.

Fans believe that none of the events in Chapter 268 fully fit into the overall story. They feel rushed and unsatisfying. The only aspect they enjoyed was the reunion of the main trio. As one fan expressed on X, “I’m pleased with Megumi’s outcome, but unfortunately, everything else was subpar.”

“Another commenter expressed their disbelief, exclaiming “I can’t believe Uraume ended up killing themselves after almost a year of build-up. What is going on, Gege?”while crying.”

“According to one fan sharing, there are numerous ways to resolve a fight like that, but this particular one was not the best. Another fan joined in, expressing their belief that the author, Gege, may just want to wrap up the series quickly at this point.”

“After everything we’ve been through, it’s surreal to see this moment,”one person reflected on the trio’s reunion.

Despite facing criticism, Jujutsu Kaisen still has three chapters remaining before its highly anticipated finale. Be sure to catch the next chapter on September 1st and the final chapter on September 30, 2024.
