Jujutsu Kaisen is currently one of the most popular manga among shonen fans. However, some fans of Gege Akutami’s manga believe that the story has been failing for a while.
The Jujutsu Kaisen manga is currently at the Battle of Shinjuku arc, in which the heroes fight against Ryomen Sukuna. Although the arc started on a high note with Sukuna fighting Satoru Gojo, fans found the pacing to be too abrupt and the storylines to have become too repetitive.
In this arc, the one who is considered the greatest exorcist in history faced many adversaries one after the other, including Gojo, but also Hajime Kashimo, Choso, Yuji Itadori, Hiromi Higuruma, Yuta Okkotsu, Maki Zenin and Atsuya Kusakabe. Characters who follow one another to try to face the terrifying King of Scourges, the next on the list being a character that fans were able to discover in the animated film Jujutsu Kaisen 0.
But the sequence of fights in the Battle of Shinjuku arc is apparently not to everyone’s taste, as evidenced by the comments that can be found on this subject on the networks.
A blow for the Jujutsu Kaisen manga according to fans?
Jujutsu Kaisen readers are not happy with the way the series is going. Many expressed their disappointment with how the story “played out” on platforms like Reddit. They say that this arc doesn’t contribute to the character arcs in the way that previous storylines did.
A user commented on this topic: “In my opinion, Gojo’s Past Arc and Shibuya Drama Arc are the best parts of JJK. It’s really a shame how the final arc is going.” An opinion shared by another fan, who then declared: “I really enjoyed Murderous Hunt and I have no complaints. Really, it seems like most of the complaints started with the Battle of Shinjuku.”
“I’m starting to get tired of the ‘Yeah, well my guy can go Super Saiyan 11’,” another user wrote.
While some readers think the weekly wait might be the cause of this dissatisfaction, some are simply disappointed with the direction Akutami has chosen. One of them explained: “To be honest, I keep reading just to see how it will end and because I enjoy the anime. For me, the story has been bad since the start of the Murderous Hunt” .
