Jujutsu Kaisen Finale Shares Key Similarity with Attack on Titan

Jujutsu Kaisen’s manga reaches its conclusion in Chapter 271, and recent spoilers reveal a striking similarity between its ending and that of Attack on Titan.

The Jujutsu Kaisen manga centers around Yuji Itadori, who becomes embroiled in the realm of curses after ingesting Sukuna’s finger, thus becoming his vessel. The final arc, known as the Shinjuku Showdown, sees sorcerers unite to combat formidable foes including Sukuna, Kenjaku, and Uraume.

Among the various antagonists, the battle against Sukuna, regarded as the strongest, proves to be the most challenging. The narrative initiates with Sukuna’s emergence and culminates in his downfall. As the principal villain throughout the series, Sukuna ultimately meets his end through the collective endeavors of the central characters.

Though the ending of Jujutsu Kaisen has received significant backlash from fans, it shares an important thematic element with Attack on Titan. Warning: This article contains spoilers from the upcoming Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 271!

According to the spoilers for Chapter 271, the final panel presents Sukuna confined within a sealed box. In the Shinjuku battle, Sukuna possessed the power of 19 fingers and consumed the skull of his original body to compensate for the missing 20th finger.

To trick him, the last finger was sealed away. Additionally, Nobara employed Resonance on the finger to diminish the villain’s strength during the confrontation. However, the finger itself is indestructible, forcing the sorcerers to resort to sealing it. Consequently, the curse will gradually weaken over time.

As long as curses persist, the risk of another vessel arising remains. Furthermore, Sukuna encounters Mahito on the pathway souls traverse, where he expresses a desire to take a different route in the next life. This hints at Sukuna’s longing for another opportunity at existence.

Interestingly, the Jujutsu Kaisen finale parallels the conclusion of Attack on Titan by illustrating that the “cycle continues.” Years after the war’s end, a young boy accompanied by a dog stumbles upon the tree where Eren was laid to rest.

This tree bears a resemblance to the one where Ymir acquired the Titan powers, suggesting that the boy could inherit these abilities, thereby reintroducing that power into the world. Thus, the conflict never truly concludes, leaving the current world vulnerable to a recurrence of past struggles.
