In the Jujutsu Kaisen universe, Binding Vows hold a significant and intriguing role in the practice of sorcery. They are essential in empowering characters and have always been a crucial aspect. A Binding Vow is essentially a pact between oneself or other sorcerers, laying out conditions that can enhance the effectiveness of their Cursed Techniques.
By abiding by the regulations and limitations outlined in these vows/contracts, the sorcerer can increase their power and influence. Yet, violating these vows results in grave consequences.
In the latest chapter of Jujutsu Kaisen, chapter 263, two additional Binding Vows are unveiled as Yuji and his team confront Sukuna. These new Binding Vows, unlike previous ones, do not originate from Sukuna. Instead, they are revealed to be the Binding Vows of Yuji Itadori and Aoi Todo, providing them with crucial benefits in their ongoing fight against Sukuna.

The Binding Vows of Yuji and Todo in Jujutsu Kaisen
In chapter 263 of Jujutsu Kaisen, the latest installment, the characters Yuji Itadori and Aoi Todo use their newly formed Binding Vows in their battle against Ryomen Sukuna. When Yuta’s attempt to copy Kenjaku’s Technique fails, Yuji and Todo step up and regain control of the fight.
Yuji employs his Dismantle technique, bound by a Vow, to target the barrier between Sukuna and Megumi’s soul, with the intention of severing Sukuna from Megumi’s physical form. Sukuna himself recognizes the potency of this attack, deeming it more impactful than mere physical strikes.
Todo’s Boogie Woogie Revised technique has greatly extended its reach and targeting capabilities, enabling him to summon Angel from a distance and take Sukuna off guard.
In chapter 263 of the manga, mamgaka Gege Akutami introduces an unexpected turn of events in the ongoing fight between Sukuna and Yuji, Todo, and Yuta, who is currently inhabiting Gojo’s body. In the previous chapter, 262.2, Yuta utilized Gojo’s Hollow Purple, and the following chapter begins with his attack shattering their domain’s barrier.
Despite Yuji and Todo joining the fight alongside Yuta, he soon collapses due to the cursed spirit Rika not possessing him when he switched to Gojo’s body. As a result, his Copy of Kenjaku’s body-switching Cursed Technique stops working. With Yuta unable to continue in the fight, Yuji and Todo step up to take the lead in keeping Sukuna at bay.
While Todo is briefly occupied by Yuta’s sudden collapse, Sukuna takes advantage and launches a Black Flash attack on him. Seizing the opening, Yuji swiftly strikes Sukuna. Despite being affected by the Black Flash, Todo helps Yuji by using his updated Boogie Woogie technique. Yuji urgently calls out to Megumi, pleading for him to regain consciousness as he unleashes his Dismantle technique on Sukuna.
Sukuna observes that Yuji is utilizing a Binding Vow to restrict the scope of his technique, aiming Dismantle specifically at the barrier between Megumi and Sukuna’s souls. He acknowledges that Yuji’s decision to concentrate the technique on this barrier is a more successful strategy for separating their souls compared to using physical attacks.
The recent Binding Vow provides Yuji with an advantage against Sukuna, causing Sukuna to avoid Yuji’s strikes instead of trying to defend against them.
In a later section of the chapter, Todo utilizes both his vibraslap and Boogie Woogie Revised to call upon Hana Kurusu, also known as Angel, for their showdown. The story reveals that by making a Binding Vow that restricts the number of swaps per strike on the vibraslap, Todo’s technique gains a much wider range and can target more opponents.
In a final effort, Angel employs Jacob’s Ladder on Sukuna in order to separate his soul from Megumi’s body.
