In every edition of Jujutsu Kaisen, Gege Akutami, the series’ creator, author, and illustrator, has made a point to highlight two sorcerers as being superior to all others. These individuals are Ryomen Sukuna, the greatest sorcerer of all time, and Satoru Gojo, the most powerful sorcerer of the present.
The story of Jujutsu Kaisen also consistently portrays both characters as powerful and undefeated, in line with their titles. This ultimately led to a highly anticipated showdown between them in recent months, resulting in Sukuna emerging as the victor over Gojo.
Despite Gojo’s defeat, it ultimately paved the way for the return of his old rival, Miguel Oduol, in the battle against Sukuna. Although the outcome of the fight between Miguel and Sukuna is still uncertain, the African sorcerer has already gained significant recognition for daring to confront Sukuna.
Miguel Achieves Unprecedented Feat After Satoru Gojo’s Death in Jujutsu Kaisen
Breaking Down Miguel’s Victory
During the events of the Jujutsu Kaisen 0 prequel story, audiences witnessed Miguel’s intense battle against Satoru Gojo, where he managed to challenge the powerful Six Eyes sorcerer. Although Gojo ultimately emerged as the winner, flashbacks from the mainline series have highlighted that he still considered Miguel to be a formidable opponent for multiple reasons.
Recently, fans were given a detailed explanation of Miguel’s Cursed Technique and its strong synergy with his overall physiology. This includes the “buffs and debuffs”produced by his Cursed Technique, which serve to even the odds between him and other sorcerers. In most cases, his physical prowess alone is sufficient to secure victory in battle.
The most recent chapters of Jujutsu Kaisen showcased Miguel’s remarkable strength when he bravely faced off against Sukuna. Surprisingly, he emerged from the intense battle unscathed, much to the surprise of fans. This makes Miguel the only known sorcerer who has successfully fought against both Gojo and Sukuna and lived to tell the tale.
Despite the fact that Miguel only joined the Sukuna battle after Sukuna had been heavily weakened, it remains a notable achievement. Additionally, Miguel also faced a fully rested Gojo during the fight.
The recognition is particularly noteworthy because it sets Miguel apart from other Japanese sorcerers in the series. Although his physical abilities were a significant factor in this, it would be unjust to overlook the role his talent as a sorcerer played in his battle against Gojo.
As a result, Miguel remains highly distinguished within Akutami’s series and is regarded as an exceptional sorcerer due to this significant recognition. Nevertheless, it is uncertain if he will be able to defeat Sukuna and lead his team to victory, especially since he is currently persuading Larue to flee with him from the battlefield.
