Chapter 267 reveals that Nobara is indeed alive and joins the fight against the strongest opponent. Despite this confirmation, some Jujutsu Kaisen fans were still puzzled by a scene featuring Gojo, until the misunderstanding was ultimately resolved.
The recent chapter of Jujutsu Kaisen manga featured the return of Nobara Kugisaki, a beloved character who has caused a lot of debate among fans. While her death was suggested in Chapter 265, the author Gege did not explicitly confirm it. This was only Yuji’s perspective, as he believed she had perished in Shibuya.
Despite speculation from some fans that Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 222 hinted at Nobara’s return, the scene where Gojo tells Ichiji and Shoko that it’s just the three of them left and Shoko’s response of “There’s one that hasn’t fully recovered yet”suggests otherwise.
Fans have long debated whether Shoko’s dialogue in the manga was a mistranslation or if it was intentionally referencing Nobara. Nevertheless, a popular JJK fan account has finally clarified the misunderstanding for everyone.
There seems to be a huge misinterpretation in the fandom. Shoko is NOT talking about Nobara hereWhen Gojo says “its just three of US” , he’s referring to his friend circle which consisted of Gojo, Geto, Shoko, Nanami, Haibara & Ijichi. Out of which, only Gojo, Shoko & Ijichi are… pic.twitter.com/t6hASdU3Xb

The JJK fan account clarifies, “There seems to be a misunderstanding within the fandom. Shoko is not discussing Nobara in this instance. When Gojo mentions ‘It’s just three of us,’ he is referring to his circle of friends consisting of Gojo, Geto, Shoko, Nanami, Haibara, and Ijichi. However, only Gojo, Shoko, and Ijichi remain. The statement ‘There’s one who isn’t fully recovered yet’ indicates that they have not yet retrieved Geto’s body, which is being controlled by Kenjaku.”
One fan pointed out that Geto passed away a year ago and the use of “recover”doesn’t seem appropriate. In response, the account clarifies by saying, “Recover can also mean to regain, reclaim, or take back, not just heal from an injury or illness.”
“According to one fan, the saying circulating and being interpreted as foreshadowing for Nobara’s return is quite amusing,”they write.
One person also comments, “I understand why there might be confusion. I think this could have been translated more clearly. Completely recovered could also imply being healed.”
