The creator of Jujutsu Kaisen, Gege Akutami, has responded to numerous inquiries about Gojo, including his main struggle in life.
Despite Gojo’s typically cheerful demeanor in Jujutsu Kaisen, his true story is much darker. As the most powerful sorcerer of the modern era, he has always been destined for a specific role and is often seen as a tool rather than a human being by those around him.
The true extent of the tragedy in Akutami’s life is further revealed by his distant connection with his parents and the solitary nature of his childhood within the Gojo clan. As if that wasn’t heartbreaking enough, he also discloses that Gojo is free from any inner struggles, except for his inability to prevent Geto’s actions.
In a recent Q&A session, the creator was questioned about Gojo’s potential complexes. In response, Gege Akutami stated, “Most likely not. If I had to choose, it would probably be his inability to defeat Geto.”
This verifies that the greatest source of distress for Gojo is his failure to stop his closest companion from turning into a notorious killer, resulting in his own downfall. Adding to the agony is the fact that Gojo is ultimately the one who is forced to end Geto’s life.
Despite fans gaining a deeper understanding of the beloved character, they are still devastated by this shocking revelation. As expressed by a fan on X, “Gojo’s biggest regret is not being able to stop Geto… I can’t help but cry.”
Another user shared that Gojo, who was born with Six Eyes and Infinity, is considered the strongest. However, his only weakness seems to be his inability to stop Geto.
“This really resonated with me. He expressed that Geto is his biggest regret,”a third person commented.
A fourth person commented that there were numerous debates about Gojo’s insecurities and issues, but the author of the manga revealed that his only real complex was not being able to save Geto.
