Jujutsu Kaisen: Gojo’s Sneaky Move Against Sukuna with a Delayed Domain Expansion

The highly anticipated release of Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 260 is scheduled for May 20, 2024. While many fans may have been hoping for the return of Gojo Satoru, the outcome could prove to be quite different from their expectations.

In the chapter, Aoi Todou successfully defeated Ryomen Sukuna using his cursed technique, while the protagonist, Itadori Yuji, delivered continuous blows. However, the last panel revealed the return of the strongest sorcerer, causing excitement among fans who were eagerly anticipating his comeback.

Despite what fans believed, it is possible that the domain expansion thought to be triggered by Sukuna was actually a delayed activation of the Infinity Void that the Honored One had placed on the King of Curses during their battle. This may sound familiar to fans of Bleach, as it bears similarities to the fan-favorite moment when Urahara seals Aizen with a delayed spell.

Please note: This article includes possible spoilers from the Jujutsu Kaisen manga and reflects the author’s personal viewpoint.

Jujutsu Kaisen: The Possibility of Gojo’s Return as a Delayed Domain Expansion, Drawing Parallels to Urahara’s Attack in Bleach

The Vibraslap, Aoi Todou’s chosen device for activating his Boogie Woogie cursed technique, took center stage as Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 260 began. In a clever move, he used this tool to transport everyone out of Sukuna’s domain range, except for himself and Yuji.

Following this, the protagonist and Aoi utilized Boogie Woogie to attack Sukuna, causing the King of Curses to become even more furious. Despite Sukuna’s attempts to counter Aoi’s cursed technique, he was unable to comprehend its workings. In a decisive move, Yuji managed to impale Sukuna’s chest, giving the King of Curses an opportunity to seize the protagonist.

As the King of Curses was poised to strike Sukuna, the chapter revealed a ‘domain expansion’ panel. In this moment, Sukuna saw an apparition of the strongest sorcerer he had ever defeated, Gojo Satoru. Despite the chapter’s spoilers stating that Sukuna used domain expansion, it is possible that the actual events may diverge from this prediction, as fans may have already noticed.

The ‘domain expansion’ that was mentioned in the chapter appeared on a black panel, indicating that it originated from someone who was not present on the battlefield. This connects it to the Honored One. It is possible that this ‘domain expansion’ was a delayed one that Gojo Satoru had placed on Sukuna during their intense battle.

Due to Sukuna’s invincibility against direct assaults, the Honored One could have implemented a domain expansion on him that would only activate when he is severely weakened or injured. This aligns perfectly with his current condition, as he is struggling to utilize his cursed technique.

If this is indeed true, it would serve as a clear allusion to the downfall of Aizen in the Bleach series. In the Fake Karakura Town arc, Aizen encountered Urahara and gained access to a forbidden power. In an attempt to contain him, Urahara utilized the Hado-91 spell known as Senju Kouten Taihou (English: Thousand-Hand Incandant Heaven Culling-Sear).

Despite the spell’s failure to harm Aizen, he retaliated by attacking Urahara. However, Urahara had cleverly added another spell to the Hado-91, known as the ultimate seal of destruction.

The purpose of this spell was specifically to trap Aizen, and it would only be triggered when his strength diminished. This occurred during his battle with Ichigo. While this does prevent the Honored One from returning, it also presents an opportunity for the sorcerers to defeat Sukuna once and for all.

Final Thoughts

It is no surprise that Jujutsu Kaisen often references other Shounen series, particularly Bleach, as there are numerous similarities between the two anime series.

Both protagonists in these features have gained powers by accident and share similarities in their teachers’ goofy personalities (Gojo and Urahara). This adds credibility to the article, but it is advisable to wait for official confirmation and take it with a grain of salt.
